Hello!

My story.

I joined dating site as I work long hard hours. I met a girl there who seemed really nice and decent. She took me to yahoo. From there we visited and chatted and cammed.

She started proclaiming love for me and all. She used the alias **********, from Irish descent.

She said she was a petro facillitator, freelancer. She told me where she lived and I traced the IP and it all checked out. Then she told me she had to go to England for the final stages of winning the contract. She flew to Spokane WA... email from her did trace there too. Then off to England, again, email trace was correct. While there she said she won the contract and had two choices to purchase bulk crude Nigeria or Saudi. She asked which one I thought and of course, knowing what I know, I chose Nigeria as Saudi will not deal with women.

Anyway, she gets to Nigeria and her email ip traces again correct. With her stay there she announces that she is out of money. She needs help with her food and internet in her room. Of course, dummy me... I send her $600. So then she says she has a tax clearance to do business there of $1000, she was unaware as she had never done "business" in Nigeria before. And the poor girl sold all her properties and vehicles to purchase the naval seal for the crude transportation. But I told her I could not do that... it was financially impossible at the time. She then said they would let her slide on that till her contract was paid from her people in Australia.

Then of course she needed more money for food and stuff like that, add on another $1,300!

Then, after saying she loved me and didn't want to wait to be with me until the paydate, because the Ozzies reneged on their bonus for early shipment. She needed money for a plane ticket to come home to me. So I scrambled and did some high interest payday loans etc to get her plane ticket money! Add on another $1,700!

She was to fly home.... but DAMN! The Nigerian officials at the FCT reneged on letting her slide on the tax clearance! I asked her wtf was going on and that I thought she was scamming me etc.... we hashed it all out and she said she could borrow from a bank there for part of the 1k clearance. She needed a co-signer... I refused adamantly to provide my banking info to a bank in that country. Anyway, by the grace of God Almightly, somehow she got a loan! And I only had to send $400 more!

This sent money made it to her last Thursday night, I travelled to Mitchell SD to a 24 Western Union and she was to email me her itinerary after picking it up and paying the tax clearance.

That was the last I heard from her. I was really worried sick, praying and stressing. By Monday I had scoured the net for unidentified girl in Nigeria or any kind of news. Low and behold! There was a terror attack at Lagos airport! The military had been called in, traffic was backed up for miles and miles. People missing flights, carrying their luggage on their heads... etcetera... chaos! I thought the worst! Little 5'6" 115lb white girl walking in that area unprotected!

Damn, I was so broken and lost... those thoughts killed me inside.

Kept emailing her, thinking maybe someone would reply.... nothing.

So I did a image search on tineye of some of the photos she had sent... got a hit.

It was Sarah Frances Pate aka pornstar Raven Riley. And much to my suprise this wasn't one of those claimed to be her.... it really was her, I cammed with her alot and yeah, it was her for real. Couldn't believe it! I never heard of her before, as I am not a porn kinda guy.

So I found various sites that she is a part of and tried contacting her thru them.. no response yet. I told her she needs to get my money back plus all fees, late fees on bills I pushed over to send to her, all of it.

There is still no response, but I am working on finding out her accomplices a Rasaq Lasisi and some guy named Michael....

On her personal site she has these stories about all these people using her pictures to pose as her and scam guys all the time.... But I assure you, it was her.... no doubt the girl on cam with me was her... I'd recognize her naked easy and her face.

So, this girl claiming to love me and wanting to spend the rest of her life with me was actually a porn star and she was emailing my 13yo son, telling him she loved him and couldn't wait to be his mother, etc.

So, no matter how much she denies it, she is a scammer, you would think that she made enough in porn.... but I guess not. Guess it goes sell the body first and selling the sould is a small step from there.

But thanks for reading this and I hope you can appreciate it. I am trying to contact the real Suzanne Hayes from Ireland to let her know that her identity is being used by Sarah/Raven.

Along with the purchasers and the whole nine yards!

Very convincing scam....

I am sorry to hear that this happened to you! Nothing we can could say will change that. Do not let this eat at you, it would destroy who you are as a person!

Noone can get your money back, but if you would be kind enough to drop the header information and the starter script into the Surplus area, i know we can give this one a hard time!

And Please do the same with the sister site at Scamwarners! You may be able to prevent someone else from falling into this pit.

I'm sorry you were scammed.

It would help even more if you could post the emails "she" sent you at scamwarners, as they are undoubtedly scripted.

I do want to clarify a couple of things, though I know that they are unpleasant to hear.

1) Raven Riley is American. She is not Irish. She is Native American and Italian. The "real" Sarah Frances Pate, if she is supposedly Irish or from Ireland, is NOT real at all. You are still being pulled into a lie.

2) You were never in contact with the real woman in the photos/video. It is faked webcam. Ever watched the movie "Speed" where the good guys record video, and loop the existing video while they are unloading the passengers from the bus? In today's world, it is even easier than that. All you have to do is take existing video, and the right software (which is sold from one scammer to another, by the way) and you can fake webcam. You can even set the software to allow actions to be performed on command (i.e. if you ask "her" to take off her shirt", the scammer can just hit a button and voila! You see it on the other end. There are literally hundreds to thousands of hours of Raven Riley video available, including many with "non-porn" scenes. That is why her likeness is used so often in scams--the more video there is available, the better webcam can be faked! The scammer simply signs up to porn sites, using stolen credit cards, then downloads everything they can before the credit card fraud is detected. Once he has the video saved, there is nothing the porn site can do.

3) The person you were in contact with was in Nigeria the entire time--because he or she (most likely he) is Nigerian. The rest was just proxies. The scammer "travels" to Nigeria because then they don't have to explain why you are sending money there instead of another country. If you had told "her" to travel to Saudi, something would have come up to block that avenue at the last minute, and "she" would still have ended up in Nigeria.

ETA: I have spent the past 3 years dealing extensively with romance scams and scammers, and Raven Riley is by far the top choice of scammers who fake webcam. I know more about Raven than I have ever wanted to know--for example, I remember a few years ago tracking down her current location from interview materials, to help a victim to understand she was not where the "real" Raven scamming him was claiming to be.

I have seen hundreds of different names and profiles used by these scammers, including several using her real name or her screen name. As I mentioned above, I have even encountered scammers claiming to be the real Raven, and claiming that all of the photos of her are stolen, or that they are the real person, but their manager stole their money and left them stranded! Because her fame is limited to the porn world, scammers know that many of their targets will not recognize her, and that faked webcam gives them much more plausibility, making time spent up front creating the fake webcam a worthwhile investment for them.

Unless it is a girl that could easily pass for her, same look and body...

Please drop the "real" Suzanne Hayes immediately. If "her" pictures are of Raven Riley, then she is a fake. That's why I am concerned that you are not completely out of this scam yet.

Not at all. As I said, the scammer has the ability to push a button to "grant" certain requests.

It's very simple, actually. Suffice it to say that the scammer already knows what requests are likely to be made. The software allows the scammer to splice key pieces of the video together, and actually tag sections of the software, so when you say you want to see certain things, the scammer just pushes a button, and it automatically plays the selected pieces, as many times as requested. The whole thing is quick and any delays or inconsistencies will seem like normal webcam.

I dropped the header in the suggested tracker and yes, it still comes up the same as the one I used....

Hmm, that's pretty elaborate to have that function the command prompt for it.... never woulda thunk!

@ Dorothy...Wow!! Unbelievable. Who 'isn't' going to fall for that unless you have a knowledge of scamming. Great info Dorothy and i'm sure that will help a lot of people. I'm gobsmacked at the levels scammers will go, scum is scum whatever it's dressed up as.

@ Rezer.... as above, i have been reading about scams for a little while now, and i didn't know that sort of technology existed, or elaborate ways like that.
In other words, what chance did you have.....about none i would say so don't beat yourself up about it. The guys on here should be given the Freedom of Europe, or whatever continent they choose for the public service they do.

I hope you lose the awful and guilty feelings real soon. There's always room for another Baiter to help stop this scum from doing it to other people. Some of the best baiters on here (who get Hero Worship status from me) are still getting their own back after being scammed themselves. And believe me, they are among the most intelligent people on the planet.

Yahoo has been very quiet regarding the protocol, and it has appeared in legitimate messages at times (for unknown reason)--but there's a pretty high correlation between NNFMP and forged headers. You will see it over at scamwarners quite a bit, and some providers do block anything with NNFMP.

No need to spoof headers.

Just sign up for a new gmail, hushmail, or fastmail account using fake details, and your location will be hidden anyway (as long as you use the web interface to send your emails).

Well, got it to contact me back on the original one that I made contact with.

Poor thing, she has been in the hospital for the last week after contracting malaria from the water supply!

the attorney handling it isn't going to be able to send the insurance check to her in nigeria... for various reasons (any help would be appreciated) then it will end up that my niece will be willing to physically take the check to her if she pays for the ticket, i.e., sends my niece money to buy a plane ticket there, of course enough for first class accomadations with full amenities the whole trip! It's gonna be tricky, but if it works out, greed will get the best of her and she will send money for a plane ticket that will never arrive! Heck, it's only about a measely 8k to make about 150k total!

Of course the check will have a expiration date so it doesn't have to be loooong and drug out.

I just joined in, having received a request for money after "mail dating" of some days.
It was obvious almost from beginning that it will end in trying a scam, so I am surprised it went on although I refused to send personal details.
Interesting the similarity of details: Irish decent, now living in my country, but on a trip to Nigeria to receive an inheritance, found trouble, dealing with gold, picture received is from a porn site, google search gave me a similar picture and name from somebody in Australia, and now the problem "she" planted is no money to pay the hotel.
Of course I haven't sent any.
I am now considering the bait: MG instaed of WU, etc.
It would be nice to receive ideas how to go on, since I am a perfect newbie.
