I was close to doing that during the night between Friday & Saturday. Or rather, I was oh so tempted to just send out a picture of "the receiver" (anyone who was online during the late 90's probably came into contact with that one) to every single one who had sent a mail to me since my last spam mail purge in my catcher account. But it felt like a whole lot of work, and I was drunk.

A bit late but surely you have room for a few more. My favourites are from a hot new UK brewer, Kernel. Among them the Export Stout is my top choice but there is a wide range, nearly all top marks.

@ bigdaddy: I have never heard of it. But Google says it is a vodka. Here Absolut is the common choice. I have no idea how Svedka taste but according to me a vodka is only as good as the stuff you mix it with.

@ bill2: My girl likes Kwak too. She drank two this weekend and got wasted on them. They are quite strong the little buggers.

@ Morgain: That one is my favorite too. A cold Newcastle is a wonderful beverage.

As a non-beer drinker (never got a taste for the stuff) most of this thread is a mystery to me. However, I do concur with Koko, the current Smirnoff range of vodka is rather delightful.

I also enjoy Kopparberg pear cider. And on a hot summer's day I love a cold mixed Pimms - mod lounge connotations aside.

I had no idea you could get Kopparbergs cider outside of Sweden. I used to drink that when i was younger. Pear and apple, the 4,5% taste good. the 7% taste to much like alcohol. It is still one of my favorites.

I discovered the 4.5 version a couple of years ago. It intrigued me as at the time I hadn't realised cider could be made from something other than apples! Embarassed

Also liked their apple & elderflower cider, very refreshing.

Pedantry Corner:

Cider - Made from Apples
Perry - Made from Pears
Scrumpy - Made from Apples, unstrained, and rumour has it possibly may well include the decomposed remains of insects, small rodents & other assorted items. Normally at least 6% + proof.

'Pear Cider' is basically a marketing term as Perry is not that a well known word.
