Hi there,
I've signed up for the mentoring programme, but am eager to get started.
I want to do a straight bait first, with one of the surplus letters.
My question is, what do I have to do in terms of the headers and all that kind of stuff to be able to reply.
Don't want to screw up my first attempt.
Cheers,
Toxteth. |

Thanks for the quick response.
I've set up a false gmail account, but what I'm wondering is, do I have to copy and paste the message from the surplus forum into an email?
Cheers,
Tox. |

Nah, just send the lad a reply something like this:

I'm interested in your proposal. Please tell me more. |
And you should be off and running! |

Good advice from Raga Man. Just a simple sentence/question should do the trick. You could write your life story, however, the lads will never read it. They pretty much stick to their scripts.
You could respond to a letter saying "Hi, how are you?" And they would just send script number 2. Eventually at some point you can get them off script then you will be in the "race".
Good Luck |

Welcome to the forums, i'm a noob too and i'm only two weeks into my first baits. The forum is really friendly and helpful.
On the subject of questions, i'm trying to track a lad i've got doing an fbi lottery scam, i've read the Eater U stickies about ip addresses but this one is coming up as in the USA. Is he smart enough to be hiding his ip? Is there another way i could track his ip?
He wants me to send over a load of personal data, any tips on what to send as i was going to just send over a corrupt file and string him along that way?
Thanks! |

Try Spypig.com. Even if the email provider strips the IP from sent mail, it will give you (in most cases) the 'real' IP address.
As for the personal data: just make stuff up as you go along, or you could use www.fakenamegenerator.com. Fake file/garbage/renamed .dll file will work just as well of course ....might work even better actually

Welcome.
@419 The baiter I co-bait with uses http://whoreadme.com and he says you can even get an IP addy on those using AOL and GMail.
As for personal data I sometimes use http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/ to come up info
Ninj'd by BertjeAass for fake name generator
Also 419 I like your avatar. Reminds me of an actual target from the range hanging in my office. |

Thanks for the great replies!
I've got lots to learn!
The fakename generator is brilliant, i think i'll use it and send it one digit at a time in the interests of security.
I hope i don't make a mistake when i'm typing though, i do that sometimes!
Glad you like the Avatar, i had an hour free at work.... i mean at home!! |
