I wasn't really a fan of her/her music and its a shame that anyone dies so young.
But with her lifestyle this news doesn't come as a great surprise.

For a long time I only knew about Amy Winehouse through the reports of substance abuse and her encounters with the law. Then my daughter played her Black to Back CD and, wow, I was impressed.
It's sad but not surprising. Amy was on the same list as Billy Holliday, Judy Garland, Miles Davis, Janis Joplin, Charlie Parker, Jim Morrison, John Belushi, etc., etc. Each an extraordinary talent whose personal life was a dumpster fire.
