My wife and I were baiting 4ppl.com and we came across this old dude. He kept hitting on our baiting profile so we shot back at him with an insult because he was sending some rather explicit things. Next thing you know, we're insulting eachother, cause the guy just wouldn't leave the profile alone. He was extremely persistant, and turned out that he was a baiter! So I told him about Eater and baiting safe etc. and he sends me this message:

Some people's children. What I'm saying though is this is an example of what NOT to do. Bait safe everyone!

I'm not gonna lie, I always thought I was as ignorant and militant as they come, but I couldn't believe it when I recommended he come to Eater, he was all like: "nope I'd rather just tell the scammers off with my real life pic on my profile with my address on it, and when I send you an e-mail, my real name shows up and I carry guns everywhere, cause I'm a tough guy and I don't know what baiting is I'm just acting like a moron to waste their time." He had no finesse, and his approach to baiting was with complete disregard for his own safety and possibly the safety of his loved ones.

He doesn't have to be afraid that a lad will pay him a visit. Even lads can tell he's a total moron, and won't bother.

So he grew up around biker and Marine uncles. Are you sure he still is not in character? Is his name John Rambo?

It is really hard for me to believe that a person with this much ignorance and ego could really bait effectively.

Does he really believe that this scam begins and ends with the “frontline” scammers? Most are complete fools. If this were the case, then safe baiting would be silly. But this isn’t the case, the have "friends", and that is what you should worry about.

Also violence is not the only option. Another could be your making yourself (or friends or family) a target for scamming. Sort of like when people claim a system is unhackable. Guess what happens next? Bruised egos, and greed can be powerful motivators. And I have seen extremely clever scams.

At any rate, you can’t help someone, who is foolish enough not to want help.

unhackable lol. never heard of it. you can put all the software in place, tie everything down, set permission from here to eternity and all it takes is a post-it note in the wrong place, or a smashed window and a stolen hard drive to undo it all.

It doesn't even take that! Not to long ago, a site that was devoted to IT security was taken down, not by hacking, but social engineering. The kid (he was like 17 or so) found an admin and simply pretended to be some co-ed looking for some attention. He got the password off him over the phone and tore through the site. Shocked

So all it takes to mess your stuff up is a horny IT guy at your local ISP center (the place your IP usually points to on a map) and even if your computer was touched by God himself, your web traffic (banking/email/stock sessions) are all exposed for that person to abuse. Confused

I once had a mentee with the same Silvester Stallone mentality.
