Phone hacking & baiting, something to think about

Something for us to think about and to avoid.

Every so often something happens that should make us query our ethics in baiting and kicking lads. As followers of current affairs should know, there has been quite a bit of a scandel involving British newspapers hacking into people's phones to listen to their messages and often information. A good example of this is here - http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/jul/05/npower-reviews-news-world-advertising This is just the latest article about it. There are links to more examples on the right hand side.

The phone hacking case in Britain has got me thinking. That there is one avenue of kicking the lads that we should not go down and that is blagging our way onto the lads mobiles. Firstly, weneed to keep the moral high ground. Secondly it is highly illegal to do this, and all it needs is one of us to get caught and we get the same shit thrown at us as the journalists involved. Considering the passions raised we will not receive much good publicity from this.

^^^ On this site we don't condone any kind of hacking - be it phones or computers. So I think we're good.

We don't go into any avenue that involves hacking - wether it be phone or email.

As for the News of the World? Those bastards deserve every bit of shit that's hopefully going to be flung at them.

One other thing to think about is covering our tracks especially with the mobiles that we use for our lines to lads. The journos involved blagged all sorts of information out.

Think about this, if they could get the former Deputy PM John Prescott's details - voice mails, telephone numbers in his contacts and his ex directory phone numbers then what sort of information could be gotten out of mobiles that we buy or use for lad lines? We know that lads operate more or less every where. All it needs are a couple of clued up lads to get into your mobile. Where could that lead them?

Yet more reason to be bloody careful in your baiting.

As above hacking of any nature will get you into serious trouble.

You could end up in Jail, and with no internet access you couldnt read all the cool baits Sad

And it would make getting a job difficult in the future, and travel could be problematic.

Hacking is NOT part of baiting.

I would agree with everyone here. Hacking of any kind is highly illegal, and I can't imagine a place like this would promote criminal activity. Even if it's only done against scumbag lads, a crime is still a crime.

Besides, hacking is for dweebs. When hackers are caught, they usually turn out to be unkempt, sweaty types with living things in their hair, limited social skills, and who generally couldn't get laid if they were a load of bricks.

Doesn't stop people from creating new threads about how they want to h@x04r into the lad's box. What eater condones does not equate to what baiters do.

So I agree with what the OP is trying to say, if this was on your mind please don't do it.

As for Lads doing the reverse, not immediately likely, but not out of the realm of possibility so use your baiting phone as you would your baiting box, safely.
