occasional baiting

I don't have the time to spend baiting every day, but I do at least once a week. The next thing I'll do (probably tomorrow) is create some new email accounts so that I can send an ASEM. If I can't get to the replies for several days, how do the lads react?

Early on in a bait, most lads probably won't give too much thought about you if you don't reply right off. After a few emails back and forth and as the lad thinks he is getting closer to a payday, he will probably become desperate when you don't reply immediately. You can probably expect multiple emails from the lad at that point. It shouldn't hurt your bait at all though, in fact it can actually make it more satisfying to know that the lad is sitting there impatiently waiting for your emails. Just have excuses ready as to why you couldn't reply sooner.

Bait at your own pace. The lads will always respond if you are good enough. Explain that you are simply too busy attending to the financial matters of your wildly successful business/family trust/sick aunt/leprosy treatment. It doesn't matter -- hook them and they will always come back. Wink

I usually start with various emails a day to get them hooked and off script, after that it's an email every two-three days, also, I don't use my computer on weekends

^^ I'm the same as Jim. Get the ball rolling quickly at the start then ease off, coasting into the land of lad frustration

I love to imagine the lad clicking the refresh button over and over and being disappointed that there are no new mails

Also, remember if you're going to throw him a curve ball (bad MTCN, problem with bank account, you sent the money to his associate Mr Gomer etc etc), make this on a Friday afternoon and just walk away for the weekend - by Monday he will be a wreck Laughing

This is how I've baited for my entire baiting career. Most lads will have be ok with this - they will adapt to your pace as long as you do a good job of establishing that there's no other way to reach you, and that you are likely to pay out on the scam in one way or another. Expect a lot of impatience to start out with, and your lads will almost always try to push you to talk on the phone as a way of speeding things up. Have a good excuse ready but try not to make it look like an excuse (for example, introduce your reason for not using the phone casually, before the lad says anything about phoning).

Otherwise, think of it as a completely typical way of baiting, just where the time scale is slowed down. As a result of this time scale it can be very hard to achieve certain goals - I'm thinking safaris, big trophies, etc - most of the time these seem to require some concentrated baiting work in a brief period to get the lad to do them.

It doesnt really matter how often you reply... Sometimes I don't reply for week or so... I look at the email almost every day and if I dont feel like replying... I just dont Smile

The worst that can happen with slow replies, is your lad will ask you if you are taking the transaction seriously.

You can throw that back, saying you are taking the whole thing very seriously and that is why you take your time reading their emails, making sure you understand the contents before you answer. Don't let them rush you.

Lad deadlines are made to be ignored. Very Happy

Every time you miss a deadline given by lad, the lad says magic formula and BAM! new deadline is given... But "for the last time" of course Very Happy

I think the only risk in delayed response is that the lad's account might get shut down before you have a chance to respond. But that could happen at any time anyway so, what the hey, let 'er rip!

Lads usually won't get impatient until it's time for the money transfer. Then they want it today or even within the hour.

If they get pushy I sometimes tell them that I am pondering an email just received today with a proposition similar to the one he is offering. The next email is usually a frantic warning about "fraudstars."

Except if a particular bait requires something happening every day, i.e. (fake) travel by my persona, lad travel (checking his ip's), other than that I am a fairly lazy baiter. The lazy lads have taught me well!! Laughing

The trick with delay is to balance it with frustration.
Each bait has a natural timescale, its easier to leave a lad over a weekend till the middle of the next week, than on a monday till a saturday for example.

In baiting everything is possible, delay frustration and pre-planning are requisites for any major success.

Each lad is different, and desperation shows in there emails, one tactic i use is to load the delay email with the next bit of the bait, if i want him to next fill in a form, i tell him people are protesting outside over new rules meaning recievers have to fill forms i couldnt get in ... a few days later i complain bitterly about the "important" transaction being hampered by new rules etc.
