Really hope we're going to have a decent summer this year, it's only fair after all the ice last winter.

27°C (somewhere in the 80's in 19th-century measurement units) and not a could in the sky. The sun is scheduled to shine on us from 05:30-22:00. What more could one ask for?

First day of summer was rainy and cold as hell. I've underestimated the weather so I had to spent all the time outside in a shirt and shorts freezing to death. That was really cool so to speak Rolling Eyes

Could someone PLEASE send rain down here! 100 temps all day, never cool at night and we are in a draught/no burn ban on!! My a/c bill is at $300/month and my garden is wilting. And to top that off -- we are in hurricane season and the Gulf is heating up and that is NOT good.

^^ Just so happens I have a *barrister/solicitor/reverend/general/diplomat* wit a consignment box full of rain waiting at an airport not far from you. Just send the custom clearance fees to me via moneygram or western union and I'll get him to pop straight round with it. Wink

@Conga - I can confirm a possitive sighting of this yellowish flaming ball you speak off.
It was sighted on the east coast of Scotland for about an hour this afternoon, but
unfortunately it has dissapeared behind a dark grey veil again and looks like it about
to pish down again.
On the plus side, we won't have to worry about any droughts/hose pipe bans this year. Laughing

@ conga I've heard rumours about "the sun" it's spotted as often as the Loch Ness Monster
I suspect it's also a myth to fool tourists

As one of the forums many keen (veg) growers. I'm delighted it's raining here at last.

We've had a long sunny spell and drought that lasted over a month and a half. I've been watering two or three times a day to keep everything from drying up. I went away to Bruges for a short break and thought I'd come back to a desert, but it started to rain while I was there and all is blooming at last. The only good thing was the strawberries were ripe and ready to eat from the end of April and are still going strong.

And of course, it's tradition for a deluge of rain during the Glastonbury festival. More so this year as U2 are taking to the stage in the UK, for the first time in 30 years.

A chilly 94 degrees here today. Much improved from last weeks 105. Luckily I was at the beach last week and missed it. Sadly I came home to find my prized Japanese Maple did not fair well in the 105 degree weather Crying or Very sad

I've washed the car - guaranteed to make it rain - NOTHING

Bought more watering hoses - still NOTHING

I am having some Black Jack Lemonade tonight and going outside and do a rain dance..........au la natural if I have to!

@ Bravo and Morgain, chilling here at 95F. How absurd that I'm thinking, "Wow, this *is* cooler!" No rain in sight, so I put a birdbath in the front yard. Apparently many dirt-covered birds are grateful, and I'm out there with the hose every evening to clean it up.
