I first saw "The Big Man" in December of 1974 playing with the E Street Band at the Arts Center in Ottawa. And over the years I have seen him with Bruce 30 times. His interaction with Bruce on stage was always worth the price of the ticket - especially when they did "Fire" together and kissed (always drove the crowd nuts).
His opus of course was "Jungleland" - a seminal work in the history of rock and roll. Here is a good rendition from the Hyde Park London concert in 2009 - CLICK
The loss of keyboardist Danny Federici was tough but noone can replace the Big Man. It is a sad day for tens of millions of fans who worship Bruce and the E Street Band. |
