I have been browsing your site for years now, and loving what you are doing.

About 5 years ago my father was scammed out of everything he had, and even about $5,000 of my money, (I had no idea what he was doing, as he never explained it, or I certainly would have put a stop to it.) He still has not admitted that he was scammed, or even really talked about what happened. I do know that he was promised 21 million dollars, and that he only had to take care of some small (which turned into huge) legal fees. Eventually he had nothing left to send. He then came to me looking for help, promising he just needed a little more to cover a few more fees. After I gave him the $5,000, he lost that, too. I have never blamed him or even gotten angry with him about it, as I'm not convinced he even understands that he was scammed. Since then he hasn't been able to recover, and part of me thinks he still is hoping for that money to show up.

Although I can't do anything to reverse what was done to him, I can at least take some comfort in knowing there are good people out there, like all of you, who are wasting these evil, heartless, greedy scammers' time and energy.

I will be showing my vengeful face around here often now that I am finally registered. I would also enjoy learned how to cause these cockroaches some frustration.

Sorry about your Father, he is probably in denial, alas there is nothing that can be done about the lost money.

I think you're absolutely right about that, I have felt awful about it for a long time, but I am realizing that there is and was nothing that I could do about it. Now at least I can learn how to terrorize these horrible people.

Welcome Murderapolis It is great that you understand why we do this! I am sorry for what happened to your father. Often victims do not want to let anyone know what happened. If you or he are still struggling with what happened, it might be good to check into our sister site www.scamwarners.com .

I encourage you to sign up for a mentor too since this hit so close in your life.

Thanks ParaNoid, I appreciate the kind words from you guys, I have come to terms with what happened, and I have moved on the best I can. I will certainly check into scamwarners. Unfortunately I have not talked to my father in months, and don't know exactly where he is, otherwise I would definitely show him, although I don't know if it would do much good.

There are lots of vengeful ways to mess with scammers.

Bait them, post their scripts on scamwarners, kill domains. You can spend hours doing any of these, spreading joy across mugudom, at least in our side of town.

A word of warning: If he is still in denial and hoping there might be money coming his way anytime soon, he is vulnerable for more scams. The criminal will have saved his email address as a profitable victim and might try to scam him again from a different angle.

Hi again Murderapolis. Your post in this thread made me aware that there is a shortage of mentors at the moment. And since one of mine have gone AWOL i might as well take a new one. But i did not know it was going to be you as the CMP is automated and gave me the first one that tried to sign up. Even though i might have had my suspicions.

That being said, one the scams Jeannette referred to is called recovery scam. One nasty scam that target people that have already been scammed once.

I agree it is very sad. Thank you for the kind words, again, everyone.

Although my father may never recover, I will do my best to learn how to save other potential victims from the same unfair fate.

I have even read about a one or two of your members actually getting money FROM THE SCAMMER.

At any rate, I guess I just want to help. If I can save even one person from going through what my father went through, then I'd call my scambaiting attempt a success.

that bit said and done ... welcome to the wrecking crew. With motivation like yours, the lads had better watch out.

Real shame about your father though. Occasionally someone pipes up and questions if it's right to bedevil scammers like this, or send them on long and injurous trips up to Chad or Sudan, and there's a small "ethics" debate.

Then we're reminded of stories like this, and the debate sort of shrivels up and falls over.

That is understandable, as I am sure there is an element of danger in doing so.

I was thinking that the whole time I was reading the FAQ. Personally, I don't think enough can be done to inconvenience these criminals.

I am more than impressed with the team of baiters in this community. I can't believe how many sites and fake banks have been killed. Although I don't understand how any of that works, I sure do applaud it.

Killing a scammer's bank account is easy, we just report the details here:

Sorry about what happened to your father. If he's still in de Nile can you bring him to de Amazon?

As to killing fake sites, it's pretty easy if you know how to use whois and host (the command that looks up an IP address given the domain name or vice versa). The hard part is getting the mugu to give you an address. In my case he sent me a form to sign, and the form had a URL written on it. He hasn't given me a bank account, but I hope to get one soon.

I felt some unease the first trip the lad went on, then I realized that I was probably more worried that I couldn't make his life more hellish, and thankfully he was alive to go on another.

Thanks so much! You have all made me feel very welcome already. Dr Mike is a great Mentor already. I have learned a ton of useful tips and I have started baiting under the name Dick Johnson, of Dick Johnson Corp.
