Anyone know how to rip an encrypted DVD?
I've found a freeware program (Shrink 3.2.0) but it wont get past the encryption and it takes about 3 hours to produce a file that is still fairly useless.  |

AnyDVD works like a charm. It costs money, but you can download a 21-day trial for evaluation purposes. If you just have one that needs done that should do the trick.  |

If you're just going to use the 21 day trial you might want to know GOTD gives away DVD rippers once or twice a month.

You have to check the site everyday because the offers are only good for 24 hours then something else is given away. I typically gauge how good the software is by the retail price however if you wait a few hours there usually is comments on how well it works. |

VLC also exports DVDs, encrypted or not. The settings take a while to figure out though. |

Sadly, nowadays DVDs are encrypted with a new type of protection for which you need the paid version. Of course I never ever copy DVDs anyway.  |

I personally go via analogue - using a capture card and a DVD player is faster than transcoding, and copy protection isn't a speedbump. |
