So, why has this bait gone on for longer than a year? Well, because, try as I might, I just can't get the funds to him!!!

Advice welcomed for additional ways to delay this. I'm thinking the next step will be either forms, a security photo, or both![/img]

I can only assume the next town is a good day's drive away, and that the roads are so poor that something comes loose and your car breaks down along the way, causing more delays. Of course, your health being poor as it is, a day on the side of the hot road waiting for a tow-truck winds you back up in hospital.

After all's said and done, turns out the WU in the next town has the same problem. Bummer, guess you've gotta go interstate.

Nice one Arthur. I may use some of that. Also, about being better, I doubt that. You have 12 banks and a Safari. I'm not even to the point where I'm brave enough to attempt a safari.

No courage needed. All you need is a good excuse to ask the lad to travel. Something like you recently learned that sending money by wire was very risky and that you are only comfortable doing this in person. The lad will resist but stand your ground and maybe he will relent and do it. If not, you can probably waste another month of his time arguing about it. Very Happy

So, apparently, my character hates poor people now. Very Happy

My thought process behind this is that, if my character belittles the lifestyle of the less fortunate (in this case, those in Africa), the scammer will be more determined to scam him (me). More determination means I can drag this out a little longer.

So, here's where I'm at right now. I told him that Sarah should have sent him the money by now and asks him if he has received it:

This bait has been straight and boring for a long time now. I would like to start amping this up a little bit. At this point, I'm not afraid to lose him. I'll gladly listen to all suggestions. Feel free to chime in. Of course, do not type out my character's name or the scammer's name. We don't want them to accidentally find this.

Could I ask a mod to please either delete this thread or edit "ThankingArthur"'s post. He typed out my baiter character's name and a google search for my character's name links to this thread. I'm in the middle of a couple of baits and I am the paranoid type.

Sorry for bumping this old thread. I just wanted to get my name out of that post. I put in a lot of time to create a web presence for my character and I don't want it to be ruined by one slip like this.
