What "live music" have you seen lately?

I just got home from a date with my husband, Mr. o'douriss. We saw 2 amazing Surf bands. One of them "Android Vasja", is from Estonia of all places!

My favourite, the headliner, was "Pollo del Mar". http://www.pollodelmar.com/ That's "Chicken of the Sea", in Spanish.

They were the most Rocking, Psychedelic Surf band ... ever! I could also hear Prog, Punk, Ska, and Metal influences. They played a surf version of the old Bowie tune - "Panic in Detroit" and also "Come as you are", by Nirvana! All four members of the band are great musicians.Their show was amazing!

The last live music that I saw, a few months back, was Dweezil Zappa and his band. They played Frank's album, "Apostrophe (')", in its' entirety! It was a fantastic evening and musically excellent!

Has anyone else seen any fabulous live music (of any genre) lately?

None. I've never been to a concert ever. Sad

I was invited to one if a certain person couldn't go but it turns out they did end up going.

Last gig i went to was Devin Townsend, which was amazing, got a few gigs coming up aswell Smile

Last I saw was Leonard Cohen about 2 months back.

Then I'd have to go back a couple of years to all the great bands I saw in the pubs in Ireland. If I'd been sober I might have remembered who they were Very Happy

Last band i saw was The Mighty Diamonds back in October, was taken along by
some friends as a birthday present. Excellent night of old school roots reggae.

My concert going has somewhat curtailed since i moved out of London, where i would
normally have taken in at least one gig a month.

Last gig was the Stranglers earlier this month, they're ( mostly ) older than me which was a nice change. Laughing

I stopped to listen to a busker last week
and a string ensemble at the shopping centre on Saturday

Last time I heard live music, was myself singing Denis Leary's "Asshole Song" at karaoke a few weeks ago. Women threw their panties at me, men afterwards told me they'd kill for me. My girlfriend was impressed.

Mozart piano concertos, played by a wonderful orchestra from Bremen. You all should definetely include this kind of "gigs" into your busy schedules!

Last gig was The Stranglers at begining of March, next one I've booked for is The Buzzcocks in September (but I expect I'll be at a couple more before then).

History wise Ive seen lots & lots of bands over the years. Everything from The Sex Pistols via The Who, The Pogues and Dire Straits to Paul Simon. I used to work part time as a bouncer at concerts. Ah the good old days Cool

Just got back from seeing Randy Newman - consummate songwriter.

Crowd was for the most part, very old.

It's all coming to an end folks. In fact Randy had the crown sing a chorus in one song that told the singer it was time to rap it up 'cause he really is dead. Done with the usual satire.

^^^ I know. All the people I'd like to see live, are long dead.

Who knows how long it'll be before we can clone Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, the Lizard King, Robert Johnson, Joe Pass, Thelonious Monk, and all the other people we're too late to hear?

Hell, even Les Paul died. B.B. King is catching up, too, only ten years younger than Les.

I have tickets to Gary Numan and Severed heads in may.

To be honest since the Numanoid is only playing Pleasure Principle, I have more interest in Mr Ellard, who's brought the sevs out of retirement Smile

Well I can remember seeing a can of sausages labeled "10 Perros Calientes" and "Chicken of the Sea" as a brand of tunafish.

Back on topic: my neighbor is playing the drums right now, it's highly annoying and I'm thinking about calling the cops.

As for last real live music, probably an unnamed male singer in a hotel in Budapest last September. It was all Hungarian to me!

Last concert I saw was KISS back in 1997 doing the whole makeup and original line up. Was awesome since I always wanted to see them when I was a kid, but my parents wouldn't let me go to any concerts.

I had an opportunity to see Slayer several years ago in Augusta, but didn't go. That particular show was recorded for their live DVD "Still Reigning"

The last two were Al DiMeola and his Simphonia, and Leo Kottke. Both great shows. Smile

Have just done security for, among others, 'Mariam & Amadou' and '17 hippies'. Both good in their own ways (though the 'hippy' I talked too was way too young to be a real hippy).

I'd like to see the Leningrad Cowboys
