Daddy is a pretty common term of respect amongst lads. Several lads have called me daddy thank God I don't think I spent much time in West Africa in my younger dumber days  |

Apparently, by allowing someone to call you a title like "daddy" or "mommy," you accept the responsibilities inherent in the title.
They think its a universal custom, and probably think that it is pretty smart of them. |

I've had more than one of those Daddy mails. I have my own opinion on
the letters that start "My Dear".
It's because we commonly start letters with "Dear ____". So now they think
that writing "MY DEAR" is a perfectly acceptable way to start a letter.
(It's not quite the same....) Don't tell them that. |
