I'd bet that the CC numbers are stolen, or phished off victims.
He makes a point of mentioning his own store, perhaps he's got a fake bank site to direct you to (to grab your own CC number). If you get it, definitely send it over to the site-killers. |

As far as the scam goes, it is a stolen credit card scam.
If the item is electronics or jewelry, he might be after the item itself.
If the item is something else, he is most likely after cash. He will want the seller to charge extra for "shipping" and forward the extra cash to the "shipper." So basically it is the same as a check overpayment.
If you receive any credit card numbers from the scammer, please forward them to one of the mods and they will get to the right place. |

Thanks guys! This site helped curb over $10K in fraudulent charges to my company's credit card.
I called the company charging us and they said it was ordered by Fred Colean of Colean Store located in AUSTRALIA. Big red flags.
I told them to hold off shipping until they verified the card info with Fred. Meanwhile, I found this site with Fred's misdeeds and told the company to cancel the order. FYI, he likes LOTS of industrial lubricants.
Crisis averted....except for having to change our account info with our vendors. Blech. |
