I just saw a tsunami on fire Sad

Looks like the got hit pretty hard, but they're the most prepared people in the world regarding earthquakes and tsunamis. As I hear, there were no casualties.

Quite a bit of damage tho.

most worrying is the Pacific rim Tsunami warning, this could get a heck of a lot worse in the next few hours - let's hope it doesn't

I really hope NZ escape, they've had more than their share this year

We have several members from Japan and the predicted affected areas.

My thoughts are with the people of Japan and all the neighbouring countries that will be affected by the tsunami.

Death toll at 200. Tsunami should have hit Hawaii less than an hour ago. The waves at Saipan were small. The tsunami should hit the west coast of the USA in less than 4 hours. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and those in harm's way.

All the more reason to keep doing what we do.
One of my acquaintances' wife is Japanese, and her parents are still living there. Fortunately for her, they're alright (I called her husband to check in my lunch break) but she nearly died from fright.
I'll be sure to thoroughly rip to shreds any bloody scum who shoves a Japanese script my way Evil or Very Mad

To think I was going to visit my friends in Japan this summer. I don't think they were affected by it too much though as they live in places like Tokyo, and Kansai but I hope the people who were affected by it, the best. I hate natural disasters! Sad

That's terrible news. I hope that our fellow Eater members in Japan are o.k.
The schools here, south of San Francisco, are canceled today. My daughter's school is only about half a block from the ocean. The high school that my son goes to isn't in any danger, but it's an evacuation centre, so they want to keep it empty and available.

This is the worst destruction I have seen to date. I cannot fathom it, it is such a massive wave.

Very tragic indeed here's hoping casualties are at a minimum. Thought go out to those affected.

Just think about how much worst this would have been 50 years ago. At least now most people can be warned and prepared.
