Alright, so here's the guys letter:

I am Mr,James Godwin Do you need a loan to pay off your bills?if yes then Email: [email protected] with the following information: THANKS 1.Full Name:...... 2.Sex:..... 3.Age:...... 4.Phone Number: 5.Country:.... 6.Loan Amount Needed:...... 7.Duration Period:..... 8.Call Phone Number: Regards, James Godwin..... Email: [email protected] Email: [email protected]

The reason I "X"'d his email is because I want to scambait him. Anyways, he's asking if I want a loan, and I want to accept. However, I'm unsure how these work because I've only seen baits from scammers that ask for money. Any suggestions?

Definitely. These guys don't usually keep track of who they're emailing... go ahead and respond to the email with your fake account as if he emailed it there in the first place.

Doing that (responding from a different email addy) is called an ASEM (Accidentally Sent E Mail), just so you know.

of course, scammers rarely question where these mails come from.

Have fun, and maybe consider signing up for the Mentor program.

Does it matter how much I ask for in the loan form? I was thinking 2,000-3,000$, but I'm not sure.

Wow, I got another, this time from a "MR TAN WONG". He's an average one. You know, deceased person, foreigner needs to open an account, etc. So I'm going for it.

Watch the intrest rate and be sure to haggle. I remember a bait around here somewhere where the baiter got it down to 1%. Work your backstory and make sure he sees only $$$$.

He will eventually ask for some sort of fee to process the loan.

I have only done one loan scam before (number 17 on our site), see link below.

Have a read through it. It may give you a few ideas.

Good luck with it.

My first succesful scam-bait was a loan scam (which has netted me a trophy and still is in operation), it follows the exact same MO as a 419, they ask you to put up your home or something as collateral or pay them a fee (as a retaining deposit), obviously you'll go for this fee as you don't want to lose your home.

ie: send us money first then we give you money

Haggle if you like, to irritate and stall, but I did the opposite, I was so pleased with his rates that I requested a larger loan, which made him have to recalculate his terms. Also most of the these guys don't know the ascii codes for the pound sign, so its always a fun thing to ask for pounds, and then when they give you dollars back or no currency sign, you can slap them for it.

They will ask for this fee via western union, so you can ask why, cause the general chaos through this.
