The way you did this reminded me of a recent scam I got where the guy said he had $1 million dollars for me and I told him that it had to be a mistake because I was supposed to receive $156 million dollars. The guy kept arguing and arguing that I only had $1 million dollars and told me to send me my information, but I told him I wouldn't even bother for a million bucks, demanding to talk to his superior. Like your guy, he just kept at it (for 1-2 weeks), not realizing that my guy thought he had been scammed out of $155 million dollars and would refuse to only accept $1 million. The guy never did raise the amount and just got frustrated to the point that he stopped e-mailing.

I have noticed a trend among scammers to accuse you of being a scammer when they get mad at you. It strikes me as so odd. You would think that they wouldn't consider being called a "scammer" an insult, since it's what they are, but it's usually one of the bigger insults they pull out.
