Hello all,
I have a bit of a thought, I'm sure someone has already proposed this so tell me your thoughts if it isn't advisable.
If we all had active catcher accounts and then simply post guyman email info on guestbooks wouldn't this be the best way to annoy them and ruin their scamming attempts?
This would -
- Waste their mugu chasing as many of their 'victims' would be other guymen
- Their accounts would be full of spam from other guymen showing them the joys of bastard spam emails
- They would have to trawl through incomprehensible messages for their real victims
- guyman fight! guyman fight! As they abuse each other for trying to scam each other
- etc, etc

Surely this would make their scamming a pointless aggravating task and they might just give up on trying to scam?
What do you reckon? I'm sure it would piss them off, and there would still be baiting fun for those who enjoy it so much!

This is effectively the same as closing down their accounts. So the same reasons apply.

- It will take the scammer 5 minutes and zero money to setup a new account.
- It makes them harder to track / makes their addresses less googlable.

They will not be confused that the other scammer might be a victim and try to scam each other. Nor will they 'fall for' any format that hits their box.

I think that it isn't quite the same, as it basically destroys the guestbooks as a source of emails for the guymen to harvest.
Without their source of hassle free potential victims then scamming becomes much harder. Closing their accounts is not effective because they can simply start again with a fresh account, but without a source of addresses then their new account would be just as hamstrung as their last.
Also I would have thought that as they get new addresses and appear in peoples' catcher accounts then back onto the guestbooks they go.
But my main aim is to remove their ready source of emails addresses to target, effectively attacking the problem at it's source rather than simply take up some of their time.
If it is too hard I reckon they'd give up in disgust, eventually.
Just my opinion though. For one I believe that because scambaiting is so well known and due to the ludicrous names used by many baiters, that the organised gangs are onto us and quite probably use lower members to waste baiters' time.
Pretty sure some of the organised groups would be here, on this forum, using the info available to target baiters and become scambaiter-baiters. Targeting known baiters already encountered, and those obvious with silly names. Could be why some of them also have silly names, playing the same game right back at us.
The easiest way to nullify the effectiveness of baiters would be to simply provide easy target scammers to waste our time. Most baiters try to keep their scammers on the hook as long as possible, I'm certain they are doing the same to us.
Hope I am making sense, never can be sure of that!
I am a newby and my opinions are not necessarily valid!
Cheers.

This is not happening at all. Scammers do not waste their time trying to waste ours. The goal is to get real victims money. Some scammers do drop by once in awhile, but we are onto them right away, and they do not stick around long. Most do not even know what it is we do here. Read around the forum, and you will see that ZERO scammers are just trying to waste our time.

Welcome to Eater. We do not try to nullify scammers accounts, because keeping track of them and bating them has other benefits. Victim awareness or the email accounts, phone numbers. Closing their fake bank sites and bank accounts, etc. It's all possible only if we know who they are and play along with them.

Enjoy your time here. Knowledge is power, so read, read, read. Very Happy

It will not destroy guestbooks as a source of adresses. Those potential vics are still on there. They already drill down from 10s of 1000s to 100s to a handful.

It will clutter the lads inbox, but I imagine its pretty cluttered already after the initial mass mailing of the format. A lad will not reply to a format from another lad.

It may also bring the owner of the guestbook in contact with the lad.

Still amazed how many emails I've been getting. Sad state of affairs really. I'll see what I can do with my straight baits annoying these bastards!

That's quite ridiculous. Why would they waste our time? If they knew we were baiters, they would just ignore us. Wasting our time = wasting their time. And they do not want to waste their time on someone that they know they will not get money from. For scammers, time is money. Them knowingly leading on a scam baiter would be like throwing hundreds of dollars into a fireplace for fun.

As mentioned, scammers live for money. They cannot understand why anyone would waste their time without being paid for it.

Guestbooks are already an extremely inefficient means of obtaining victims. Of all the addresses scammers harvest from guestbooks, very few (easily less than 0.1%) actually fall for the scam. Clearly, this isn't a deterrent to the vast amount of scamming activity that goes on. As such, adding more useless emails to the list won't affect them in any way.

I have put mugus emails in guest books.

“unsubscribed them” from porno spam this means that I enter their emails in unsubscribe box, just to make the senders of Porno aware of their address.

Sent “one liners” to mugus in the surplus section. A one liner is usually a photo with a nasty inscription, or anything that might blow the mugus mind. But it all hast to fit in one email.

My feeling on doing all the above is it won’t end scamming but it might just add a little bit to the stress level of the mugus and aid my fellow baiters. A mugu can never have too much stress.

On ending this I believe that most are extremely tenacious. And the only thing that will stop them is a prison cell.
