Label lads in gmail

I'm trying to keep mail from/to each lad under a personal label so that i can keep track of who is who.
But it really doesn't seem to work!
I made a filter for mail received from "x" and another for mail sent to 'X" to both go to the same label.
but it doesn't collect all the mail back and forth to the label so I know where I am at.
Hope I am making sense, this is really irritating me. My aim is to irritate THEM, not myself! Smile

Can anyone help me out with this?

Why not just bait from multiple accounts? Get the Gmail manager plugin for firefox, so you can swap back and forth quickly. Smile

In the Gmail "labs" there is a "nesting" feature that you might be able to use to keep things straight. A friend helped me set mine up so I am not able to explain properly. Go to Settings/Labs/ Nested Labels and enable it and follow the directions.

Manage your email by sorting it into a hierarchy of labels. Add slashes (/) to label names to express inheritance. For example, if you want a Home label with two child labels named Kids and Shopping, create the three following labels: Home, Home/Kids and Home/Shopping.
