Usually when you get that reply, it indicates it is from a baiter. Is there any chance this is an insult baiter (or an insult autobaiter) that you happened to get tangled up with? It would be the rare lad that would know what those roman numerals are or what they are meant for. And even if they did know what it meant, why would a lad send it?

Dora, look at his earlier replys. They are positively reeking of ladditude, especially his disquisition on Nigerian society and Igbos.

Personally, this is what I think.
1) There are a lot of lads and non-lads that like symbols, gang tags, numbers, etc. There are criminal gangs in South Africa known as "the number". If you look at the Insult bait, you will see that there are guymen who claim various handles, among the most simplistic being 2MM (for "too much money") and MMM ("money making machine").
2) How much education does someone really have to have to know Roman numerals? Besides, it's wishful thinking to assume that somebody educated would not be doing 419 or that all 419ers are necessarily uneducated.
3) My impression is that this guy is trying to look like an oga, but maybe he's gotten his inbox overwhelmed by insults and other extraneous e-mails. So he's set up some sort of automatic responder, and who knows, if he does get a message that appeals to him somehow, he might try replying from another account.

^^^ I am not arguing or saying it is for sure a baiter. But do a search on Eater for 'CDXIX' and see what others have said over the years.

Take it for what it is worth. If it is a lad, it would be highly unusual. That's all I am saying. Very Happy
