Hi gang!

I have a couple of good baits in the W column and 3 more on the hook. I'm glad a found a worthy hobby to kill some of my retirement time with. And I'm especially glad I found this forum.

I'm having fun with 419ers and romance baits.

I've been at this for a bit more than a month now and used what I gleaned from "Gilbert Murray" who has one of the other baiter sites to get started. Looking forward to many, many entertaining hours ahead.

It seems like most of the guestbooks I can find with mugu references are already full of baiters if any all of those way too obvious names are any indication!

Hey folks,

I suppose I ought to have introduced myself before posting my first trophies. Smile

I've picked at baiting for a little while now after having found out about it via Wikipedia's random article function. Some of it has been practice, some done out of boredom. I've lurked here and at a few other sites that post stories about how people bait their lads and the directions they take. I figured I'd go ahead and register to take a gander at some of the member-only forums. It seems a fun exercise in creativity to do this. Very Happy

Hey there. I've had an interest in Scam baiting for a while now. Whilst I have never made good on my plans to learn or to get into the hobby. Finding the community and spent the afternoon reading through the stickies and realising that it's a plausible hobby.

Hi y'all. I've been reading this forum on and off for years in spare moments - the last time was a couple of years ago.

Great to be back and at last get around to joining in the fun.

Particularly like new additions such as the "University" thread - the tools have overloaded my favourites, guess it's time to organise.

The sheer scope of some of the work done here makes me think i'm going to need more than one monitor, how else am i going to keep track of what i've mailed to whom and vice versa.

Hats off to those who can juggle seven different E-Mail adresses at once and keep track of everything while staying sane (am i making unwarranted assumptions?)

@ piecrust I first started out with a couple Surplus Letters suggested by some folks on Eater. During that time I kept a 3-ring notebook handy with notes about each of my (eight) personas (their physical fake addresses, email addys and p/w's, K7 telephone numbers and other notes about their personas).

AND I kept reading Stickies, threads and Eater U.

Then I added a few more baits from letters from Surplus.

AND I kept reading Stickies, threads and Eater U.

That was back in October. Now I am up to about 25 investment lad baits, and about 8 other type baits.

AND I keep reading Stickies, threads and Eater U.

I also joined in mass bait with 2 of my personas. We had about 8 others involved for a total of 10 personas. With a mass bait, you can get your feet wet and it is not all on your shoulders as y'all work together. http://forum.419eater.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=193595

For me, personally, I find if I stick to a particular type of bait (in my case investment lads) I have my attorney persona hat on firmly and can handle the 25 of those type baits I have going.

One tip I would suggest is that when you start a bait, keep a copy of the original scam letter (save to a Word doc, etc), then if/when you get a bank account out of the lad, you will have the original documentation to send to that wonderful mysterious Alan who will handily close that account.

And the 3-ring binder? I rarely look at it nowadays.

Hi, I've been a member for a while but been largely inactive for the last year, as I've been dealing a 'friend' who convinced me to invest in his business, then took the money and ran the company into the ground.

On top of that, I was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in July 2010 and had surgery to remove a brain tumour in November 2010. Now spending a lot of time at home so have decided to get back into baiting! Call it therapy.
