Pissing off a community whose goal is to torment scammers. And, goat porn. This is not a good idea, Mr. spammer.

In reply to the question as to are there more spammers than usual, the answer is no. The mod team stay on top of the situation and normally manage to zap them within minutes. In this case, it was one guy who made 30 posts and it took half an hour for someone to get everything deleted. Unfortunately, that's going to happen sometimes. Rare, but when a spammer goes for it like that with all of the mods offline, when they return, it takes a while to delete all of his crap. A month or so ago, we had one guy visiting on a proxy and dropping 60-90 posts a day. When you get a situation like that, it's impossible to catch them all immediately.
7-10am GMT always seems to be the worst time as that's when the majority of them are online. Unfortunately, most of them are based in China and spam between those times.

Ordinarily, you only need to report a single one of the spammers' posts. When we delete them, we check their profiles and are able to see if they've dropped anything else. Reporting the same spammer a dozen times for different posts doesn't really make any difference.

Windy is right about not posting after them. When a mod visits the thread, it makes life easier if the spam is at the bottom rather than having to hunt through the thread. Although we run off the spammer's profile to delete him, we still have to check the threads to make sure that we're not deleting a regular member's work.

What I don't get is why they think we're all so desperate to buy US football jerseys anyway - if I wanted one I'd go and look for them.

I'm hardly going to see thier poop and get my Visa card out at once, to buy a jersey I never knew I wanted.

BTW, if you want to sign up for Eater from India or China, you may do well to send us an email first, so the mods don't go 'Oh look, there's another one!' before you can even make your first post.

Unless I have not been paying a lot of attention (or they are getting zapped early on) I only see spammers on here about once every two months or so. And I have to brown nose (toffee nose) to the mods and say you do a great job of getting rid of them quickly. clapping

So keep it up like a good porn actor!!

I have reported lately but the last one was so prolific that I thought it was so obvious and I didn't want to rattle the lounge door too much for fear of reprisal.
