Does this site look legit?
Code: |
http://www.allprocorporation.com/index.asp |
They have something I'm looking to buy. They're based in China and the site honestly looks like nothing a scammer could create.
But I found them through some shady merchant site that I realised is crawling with lads (Thanks to this hobby, I know a lad typing from a mile away.) The merchant site i found them on was
Code: |
http://www.alibaba.com/ |
and the merchant is at a very reputable standing with the site. (Which the site does seem to take initiative against the scammers.)
However, you can never be too sure..
Fun tip! You can go to Alibaba and search around. Fire up the site's live chat and there are lads crawling eve rwhere on there. I talked to 3 before I found someone not typing in lad-speak. I told the lads i knew they were from Senegal or somewhere related. They'd just get mad and say to find another merchant. haha. |

IDK doesn't look like the kind of site I'd normally trust.
Run it through here and see if anything's sketchy about it. Generally, if they've owned the domain for a long time they're usually legitimate.
Also, try running the site's name through search engines, sketchy sites tend to get sketchy results you know? |

Without generalizing, and even without looking at the websites, if they are Chinese, and sell goods for very low prizes, then you can be sure you are waisting your money to scammers. I've seen too many of those sites already, linked to a lad i was baiting. |

^^^ I echo everything the vampire said.
And I wouldn't trust anything on Alibaba. That place is swarming with scammers. Google 'alibaba + scam' and take a look around before you even think about purchasing anything through one of their sellers.
Caveat Emptor.
And lola, I found 2 of those Windwood Group sites online. I don't think they are 419AFF but they are definitely sketchy investment-type sites. |

@lola_pola
One thing to keep in mind on the topic of baiting, scammers like to make up a false sense that they're affiliated with big name companies.
I just had a scammer today send an email saying he was with some group of lawyers. And honestly, the site looks legit and google is clean..
http://www.uihj.com/
but obviously, he isn't. haha. |
