I have been following this board for a while and before that this is something my friends and I would do for fun, it all started with screwing with telemarketers but now with the booming interwebs how could I resist screwing with crooks on here too.

I really can't remember exactly how I found this site, but read through all 165 pages of the Adamu/Miracle/Famous safari in the last 2 days of work. I'll be looking into getting with a mentor and baiting ASAP!

Actually registered a while back, but had not introduced myself as I have been reading and studying. I have a couple baits on the line now and working as a confused 71 yr old "lady" who gets things a tad mixed up with the "lads".

There's information buried in each forum, Eater U http://forum.419eater.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=51 is the most comprehensive collection, but each forum has its own set of stickies that are a must read as well.

If you need lads to reply to, you'll find plenty in Surplus Forum, http://forum.419eater.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=18, pick which one you like the look of, and have at them

You may need to notify loved ones, family and work that you will not be available for frivolous activities such as talking, dining together, arriving at work from now on.

You don't need to be particularly creative to be a very effective baiter. Just respond to the lad as a real victim would. Of course, you are not all that bright, have lots of questions, and suffer from short-term memory loss but, other than that, you are just another victim. Razz

If you get stuck, your mentor can help you out or post your question and someone will be glad to help. And... Welcome to Eater!

Raga Man, you are right -- about asking questions and short-term memory loss plus getting muddled from hip operation medications. For some of us in real life (and our characters) as Geo Straight' songs says "it just comes natural"(lly).

Hi, I've read some great stories and participated in taking down some fake banks.
Now I try to bait a 419:er for the first time as Sir Regina1d Aschenbach3r III
An old fart who grows weed and don't like it if you leave out the "Sir" part when communicating.
I hope to get a few pointers here if I run into trouble.

I know what you mean about not liking it when they leave out your title. I have a Princess character and she gets upset when they use her first name omitting, the "Princess" title. As royalty she gets quite annoyed with them. Very Happy

hi all new to the sport but not the 419's had one this morning to which i replied in my not that witty nature but thought to myself how can i have a laugh at them?? then i found you read some stories went through some of the forums and waiting for a mentor as i would like to jump in but fear i wouldn't be able to take things far enough..

I had the idea about 2 days ago to start getting all my army friends to start spamming the spammers. I figured that if I get 5,000 of my Army buddies to email 1 scammer with our fake credentials, if the 419'r spends 10 mins replying to each of our emails, he would have to work non-stop (no food, sleep, etc.) for 30 days straight. And he wouldn't have a single lead outta the whole bunch. All we have to do is not reply and he'll still have to work that account for a month. After a week of him working and no hits, he'd probably give up.

The just: My Army buddies and myself can make a template with our fake information and stuff and respond to about 1 per minute. So in 15 minutes if we hit all the same addresses we can close out 15 scammers per day. I know this is nowhere close to the real number of scammers AND I know that all 5000 might not do it every day, but if more than 1/2 do it's still enough to shut that one 419'r out...

I'm so glad to see that there's actually a site dedicated to this. I love each and every one of you for what you are doing... My buddies and I will keep on pushing. Thanks!
