More specifically, no crimes we've seen evidence of... yet! (Lack of evidence != evidence of lack, etc)

But his ambiguous talk about the passport scan - that he can't use this ID to enter the country - yet he is here, so immigration would like to know?...

He wrote something about the passport not being in his own name or something like that. It does sound suspicious, although I don't see how he could get through UK customs with someone else's passport.

Yeah they probably won't deport him straight away, but they won't want to let a scammer stay in the country. He probably has limited leave to remain so they might not renew/extend his visa. They might decide to investigate further and find out he lied on his visa application in which case he might well deported when they catch up with him. Anyway it can't hurt to let them have the information.

I have written to the appropriate authorities about Andrew (thanks for the links and advice from everyone!). I explained a little bit about him, and how I know various details, etc. I couldn't paraphrase this bait into anything succinct--I mean, how could explain from the start to where it has gotten at this point in anything less than a short story?

I told them that I have his real passport, etc. We'll see if they get back to me. If not, I'll make some calls to the authorities in Bradford, and see what they say.

In terms of the bait, I am waiting to hear back from Andrew. I'll be posting up a newspaper article that I knocked up last night and sent his way.

I don't like that he has been silent for a little while.

I thought it would be funny to put in the article the fact that Andrew is in an undisclosed location, and then basically give his exact location in the same sentence!

Since Barry has been arrested, Can Andy come to America and give evidence/ statement against Barry ?

I think that the statement from Andy is very crucial in this case.

Also does Rev Shucks know about the arrest ? What is his reaction ?
I think Mc Thorn should ask Andy to inform Rev Shucks.

(Thinks ) As soon as Barry stands trial in the US for his crimes then Andrew becomes a 'star witness' regarding this.
Surely FBI agent McThorn can convince Andrew one way or other to travel to the US to testify and receive big bucks for his trouble. As the Iceman is hot on his trail in the UK, Andrew is possibly getting a bit skittish right now and would gladly disappear across the pond with the prospect of a lot of dollars and possibly a new identity under the Witness Protection Scheme to come.
(Problem is has he enough money for another air fare ?)
I'm sure the US Immigration people would be sympathetic to him and his story at the airport on arrival !

Andrew doesn't seem to move unless he feels he is in real danger. I don't see him going to the US unless McThorn foots the bill. Of course, I didn't think a lot of stuff that happened in this bait would happen ... so who knows. He just seems very reluctant to move without payment up front.

That is commonly referred to as "burning" a lad. The general opinion is that this is not beneficial and that it is better to let the lad wonder what went wrong instead of confirming his suspicions.
