A few years back I receive a E-mail from Juisus Baker ( I believe to be a fake name ) telling me that he lost a job as a payroll clerck. He started his own payroll business so he need help printing payroll checks. He gave me instruuction what to get. Later I received a registered check in the mail to deposit into the bank. Known I have receive bogus check before.I ask the credit union to verify the check. Well I was convince that this guy was legit.The check got cash. According to law the clerk has to cash the check. Well in the mean time this Baker guy was asking for money to send him for shipping the supplys to me from over seas. Well I suspect this is a 419 scam so I went to my credit union about him wanted me to wire him some money. I took the E-mail to show the credit umion personal. Well she show me it is a scam. They had the check invastigated to be turn out to be bogus. I had the money sitting in my saving account to prevent me from spending it. I had to pay $20.00 penalty for the bogus check. It is easy to fall for this when you do not know how to look for sign of scamming. A lot people who are mature adult who know better get scam. These scammers know how to fool us really good. Us who have been scam by 419 scam are not stupid and dumb. That make us feel stupid when they say we are stupid. I am to let many people know what to look for in the 419 scams. Lot of peole have been dupe loosing their money and property. Now I know what to look for and not to preceed. By the way,they withdraw the money from savings. Crying or Very sad

It is hard to stop these 419 scammers operations. A lot of people fall for these scam which is not right

So sorry to hear that you were a victim of these check scammers. Believe me, many people have been fallen victims to the check scams and many other types of 419.

No one here on Eater or our sister site, ScamWarners, would ever think you (or other victims) are stupid or dumb. Many Eater members have been victims of scammers or know someone that has been. And many also work over at ScamWarners, helping victims or potential victims, and educating all about 419 scams.

Some scammers and scams are easy to spot (especially once you know what you are looking for) and others are more sophisticated. If anyone thinks only stupid or dumb people get scammed by them, then they are the fools themselves.

Again, I am sorry you were a victim; glad you only lost $20.00; and encourage you to tell others your story so they can be educated also. Feel free to go over to ScamWarners, take a look around, and post your story over there too.
