I bet 100% that there's already a thread about this, but I couldn't find it. How do you get "promoted" from "Hi, I"m new here" through the "ranks", etc?

The ranks are given by your post count - in other words - the more you write here, the better rank you have.

Once you have premium membership you can make your own 'rank'.

Actually, it's a yearly donation and well worth it. There are many other perks besides the p.o. box. Lots of amazing baiting tools.

As a premium member, you have the right to ask for your own title.

If you get one and what you get is entirely outside of your control, however (see evil_sheep).

I think it best for a mod to give you a custom title based on something you said or that a lad said to you, without asking for it. Hence why I don't have one yet Very Happy

Welcome to eater, Commodore! Going Premium will (some day) get you a custom title bestowed upon you by some nameless mod(s). Asking for a particular title is a solicitation for ridicule. Hell, look what happened to me and I didn't even ask for it! Laughing

And, yes, your Premium donation is well worth even if it is just for the knowledge that you have contributed to a very worthy cause. And the perks are pretty good, too. Very Happy

^^yeah I know I have seen some post about that I was just trying to save some others from getting a tag like yours. Not that you shouldn't be proud of yours. I'm sure it takes some dedication and is a very time consuming hobby.

Back to the OP you could check out general chat. There are some threads where all the Post whores hang out. I hear it can help elevate your rank.

You can ask for one but it's not a good idea to? Or was that a joke? Do I just get one out of the blue? I kind of want one that enhances my "Piratey Aura" like... "Bosun of Terror" or maybe something a little more scambait-oriented like "Master of the Scammy Seas". I don't want to be stuck with something crappy like "Uncles's Left Foot" or something like that.

Thoughts?

@commodore just PM a Mod what you would like and I'm sure will get the exact opposite.
From what I can tell the best way is to wait until you are honored with one. Otherwise you can ask for one but begger beware you may get one like "parrot humper" or something similar. Of course you may get lucky and the Mod may be having a good day and give you what you want.
