Does anyone else see the psychology behind baiting?

Personally, I feel that it is an interesting brain exercise. Overcome the obstacles the lad throws in front of you, and quietly and quietly imposing obstacles of your own.

In some weird way, sharpening some abstract social skill. It's kind of like improvised acting, only in a virtual "real" situation, and not so time-demanding as to where you don't have time to form a gameplan.

Does anyone else feel this about baiting?

I liken it to releasing the immature child dwelling in me that has the need to prank or mess with lad reality. Brain excercise? This comes to easily for that.

Occasionally we get a student who comes through wanting to write a thesis or dissertation on baiting. [Well some of them want us to write it for them... ] Sadly, I have never seen one of them come back with their findings.

I bait because I know they are out to get me, but then again, I am ParaNoid Laughing

In some ways it can be like a virtual chess game
well thought out plans, move vs counter move
some can take it further master vs master
a few get to the end game
but for most of us, it's the time taken focused on the game is taking focus off the innocent pawn

yes a brain exercise

in others
it's like jumping up and down on a squishy puddle

I feel better for the jumping but the puddle reforms in some shape or form

but some where in that reshaped puddle is the imprint of my boot

The vlads give me the creeps

I really find it hard to detach knowing there someone out there falling for it

I dont really know why the thought of a romance vs money scam can usettle me
It may be the pure evil exploitation that get s me
but then that the point of the inheritance/lotto/advance fee ones too

does it mean I value love above money?

Baiting sure beats the repercussions I received from enjoying cocaine and hookers, but I found that a tad more pleasurable. I guess life has its tradeoffs.

I don't know, but when I was a kid I liked to throw rocks at hornets' nests. When I lived in Texas I enjoyed kicking fire ant mounds. Just need to stir things up once in a while.

Yes, I was, am , very impressed. I followed Joseph and the Traveling computers until it, unfortunately, stopped, and was blown away by the cunning and sophistication of the baiter. It is the restraint and patience of the baiter that impresses me most; the capacity to hold back, to obscure oneself and act for no personal gain is a very rare and advanced quality in a person and one to be aspired to.
