Banned from membership?

Once in a while when reading old threads, I'll see a member with 1000+ posts who is **BANNED**. Without giving specific examples, how would a well-respected, longtime member get themselves banned?

By breaking the rules, probably in a very serious way or repeatedly. The Forum rules have a section on "what happens when you get out of line?" that explains this.

If you dont bait like your told then its a good way to get banned here, ask a honest question about baiting and then disagree with the answer is a good way to get banned too. Or they just delete anything they dont like without giveing reasons other then because we said so and threaten you if you start another thread asking why. Rolling Eyes

Follow the rules and dont do anything to steal the old members glory and your fine, theres only one way to do things around here.

Yes and please don't feed the Trolls. Often trolls are a source of issues. I have seen a few in my 3 years here.

Hi teh zombie, and welcome here. Unless one is intentionally trolling, refuses (usually repeatedly) to abide by the rules of the forum, or is a confirmed spammer, there is no reason for anyone to be banned.

We do ask that our members be respectful to others but there is certainly more than one way to bait and I have never been told how I should bait, other than deliberately involving ITPs.

No one gets banned around here for asking a simple question.No one gets banned for disagreeing.You get banned for doing it to death,and not giving it a break.The rules are not that complicated,and in reality you can break them to your hearts content.The only way you can get caught is if your ego gets in the way,and you insist on bragging about it.This place is not perfect,nor is life.The mods and admins have the thankless job of trying to ride herd on a bunch of intelligent,creative people,who not only think outside the box,but try to think of some way of using the box as a weapon.
Like I said,it ain't perfect but what the hell in life is?I've found it to be a fine place to be over the last couple of years,as have more than a few others.

Well, it just seems as though after you have been here for a while, you wouldn't do something that would get you banned.

From what I've gathered, there's even a former moderator that's banned. I think his or name is...kleindoofy?

Then I found Eater and I've not left the keyboard since. and hey, only been warned once? twice? there should be an icon for wounded in battle but recovered and nearly rehabilitated members. Shocked

You're starting to beat an old drum here though, move on, we all learn as we go, push the envelope too far and it will rip.

Yeah, it just kind of puzzles me...usually if you're a flagrant rule-breaker it would come out sooner than 2000+ posts, unless mods/admins are just REALLY REALLY REALLY tolerant.

I got banned a while back for screwing around with a mod's head. I got let back in after I promised Lotta that I would never sample Scotland's finest while I was playing silly buggers with a mod. But things were different way back then - irreverence was a fun thing.

Anyway . . . I was flying high on rocket fuel when I just happened to mention that it was possible for this particular personage to crack walnuts, without using any hands, by utilizing an extremely powerful and tight orifice.
