There is this brand new lad, tonight he mailed my Harcore Porn Producer baiting account.

He makes no proposals no tricks, he just says please Sir I am alone, no money, nothing, please if you can help me, I will do whatever you want

I replied saying hey, I work in the adult entertainment industry, I can't help you, know what I mean? He replied that he is ready to do anything: actor, singer, porn, whatever to get out of there and change his life.

It left me surprised and moved. I feel bad about baiting him. What do you think?

Nah, not in the porn thing, but I am in advertising and I happen to choose, approve and then follow female models fo the ads. Not bad at all.

But in the baiting alternative reality, I am a powerful US Porn Tycoon. Well, I also am a Pastor and a Swiss Doctor at the same time.

I see where you are coming from, and did actually sit down to think for replying.

My conclusion: your lad has tried to scam you. He is a scammer and deserves to be spanked. I'd go ahead and bait him hard, then, at the end, tell him that he should find something to do other than scam, as look where it has ended him up.

You need to remember, lads are big bastard liars. I'm starting to auto-disregard anything they say these days, unless they send a photo. Wink

If that is the case DROP him, you will come up against a lot of this type of thing, look out for other types of scams that you feel more comfortable with.

Yes... maybe I just should drop him and ignore any other mail. There is something in the tone of those mails that moves me, but maybe I am just a noob and this is an expert scammer who plays with people and feelings, who knows

If he doesn't send you any scamming scripts, then it's likely to be a beggar, or it's really someone who is looking for an opportunity to get a better life. There are loads of people out there doing that. The golden rule here on eater; if you're not comfortable with baiting a lad, then you drop him. Or if you're not comfortable making the lad do silly things, then don't. You decide how far you can go with a lad/baiting. Baiting has to be fun, not something to worrie about.

And it's good to ask these questions here on the forums, sometimes it triggers a long discussion amongst baiters. And we're here to help you with your questions.

The one thing I say from a 'conscience' perspective: 'If in doubt: don't.' Or 'if you feel uncomfortable: don't.'

The one thing I say from a 'baiting scammers' perspective is: 'If in any doubt that they are scammers: don't.'

We bait recognisable scammers. Advance fee fraud scammers. Scammers who offer something in return for your payment - usually money; sometimes a job or a property to rent or an item for sale; sometimes love/marriage; sometimes 'help for suffering people': charity scams. If they offer money in return for your payment; that is easy. The rest: they need a bit of discernment; they need some checks to ascertain whether or not they are 'for real'.

Those who offer nothing? Maybe they are scammers. Maybe this is just another format to them. But maybe not. If one can't tell - leave them alone.

Another option you have is to ASEM him.

Send an email from another address. In that email quote part of a scam (pick one up from Surplus) and make like you're a vic getting near the payment stage.
If he runs with it and tries to steal your money, you can bait him with a clear conscience.

If he's this desperate, is there any honor in extracting trophy-pics from him? (would you be able to call them 'trophies' at all?)

This guy isn't an actual scammer (or at least, this is not the type of scam we're baiting. As has been said, it's completely possible that he's running perfectly normal NOK-scams from another box, but you'll never know), so I'd advise to drop him.

You'll find lads fall roughly into three categories. Career lads, who are hardened criminals that operate on their own or in organised gangs. They work full-time at advance fee scamming and just about any other criminal activity where they can to earn easy money. Occasional lads, that have a regular job or are students and have ready access to a computer. They will send out the odd batch of scam emails and play them as and when they have the time or inclination. Then you get the desperate lads. These ones usually send formats that are pretty much begging letters asking for help for imaginary sick or dying relatives or as orphans. They see scamming as the only way of making a living.

You get a rough guide as to what level of lad you are dealing with by the type and tone of their email. The more successful they are, the more aggressive the format. Lotto lads are usually the most successful and will have a lot of backup. They don't deviate from their formats much because they don't have to. They can afford to lose a few magas because of the returns they are making and won't waste time if they have any suspicions.

Romance, next of kin (NOK), business partner and so on can be run by individuals or gangs. The begging type, or orphan formats are at the bottom of the heap because they are easy to work, require no (or hardly any) documents. They are usually the easiest to get of script and quickly resort to up front begging if you hold out. Don't be fooled though. A lot of lads start out with these simple formats and quickly work their way up to higher level scams if they get any measure of success. Once they get a bit of money it is reinvested in better formats and paid help.

Have you considered career counseling him? I mean if he's in it for the money only, in a begging way, he will drop you. You will have tried to help, but he made the choice. I think it strange he would harvest a guestbook. I think that is an odd thing in itself. For instance:

Let's say I am an a average type person, down on his luck, at wits end. I take my last monies and head over to a internet cafe (or other public venue as he had better not be emailing from his home pc if he's destitute) and decide I am going to start emailing folks from a websites guestbook. I think a beggar would not be too savvy to doing something like that on my own without guidance or previous experience.

Maybe he's a lad who has been thoroughly used up by a baiter, on his last mental straw, afraid to scam and just asking for cash outright. We do tend to cause trauma sometimes. Very Happy

I've dealt with this guy--TWICE! and he is still coming back for more.

His real name is Lucas Ulor.

He is fun for filling out forms and stuff. I even had him go to Abeokuta once, and Port Harcourt once. Tigbitties baited him to and got a nice 4 page handwritten letter. He is going by Chiji now. He lives in Owerri.

He is young.

My conclusion: I don't know.

He is begging, and we don't bait beggars, but he is relentlessly begging and lying every email--and he is not poor! Tigbitties bait found him sitting behind the wheel of what seemed to be a pretty nice car giving a lousy apology for something, I forget what. There is youtube footage somewhere.

You could find an NGO with a local office near him and ask him to go there, talk to them, and get them to mail your baiter account.

If he's willing to do this, chances are he's just a beggar.

There has been a time or two for a couple seconds I feel bad for the pitiful lads then I take a little time to read some of the stories of real victims and the feelings go away pretty quick.
Like others have said if something does not feel right drop them. Not worth worrying about lads are a dime a dozen right!

Scammers do this sort of thing all the time. They will try their absolute hardest to tug at your heartstrings in an attempt to get a few dollars out of you. Don't believe them for a moment.

I've had lads beg, plead and give me all kinds of sob stories to get my money. They get no sympathy from me (refugee lads are good at this). And incidentally, when I tell them my daughter is in hospital and I need to use the money for medical bills, they tell me I should send it to them and they'll have it refunded in plenty of time for her surgery...

^^^An intriguing situation, resolved by Nowhere Man posting up the low-down on the lad.
A fair number of lads who survive my havesting bait try begging with a wide variety of formats. One even mocked up a hospital invoice for the costs of the 'operation' his nephew needed.

Since I have the original scam, etc. on hand, I consider those begging messages as an invitation to play. Cool

If you work a mass bait on this guy you could definitely get him to travel.

He wont go very far though, at least from what I've seen. I was surprised he went to Abeokuta.

He is trophy worth, too. He will pretty much do anything.

He was my first bait, and he still emails me asking to send the funds we promised him months ago--

I did get a death threat from him! He said I would die on October 5th, well...
