I moved into a new flat in Tasmania recently and over the past couple of months the previous tennant has made no effor to collect his mail so most of it has been returned or binned.
I was in the process of sorting this stuff when I discovered a very intriguing letter from Malaga, Spain.

The first line... "Firstly, I must solicit your confidence in this transaction..."
The English is perfect with none of the usual lad-speak although it does follow the usual dead relative format.
The sender, Ricardo Gomez does include his email and phone number. (although for some reason did not answer when I rang him at 3am Spanish time)
So I think I had better dust off the old baiting gloves and get to work. I will be very intrigued to find out whether there is a local contact.
I hope so. Wink

Sounds very similar to the paper letter my brother got a few months ago.
Only that one was machine-translated to Dutch (we live in the Netherlands).
In this case he called himself Danny Ricardo. He was running a few websites. Those have been taken down by the fake site killers.
I'd be interested in comparing emails and phone numbers.

I was baiting this lad, but I sort of let it slip. My character was supposed to travel to Portugal.

I'm in NSW and one of those showed up at my grandparents' house.

I was tempted to bait it, but someone shredded it before I got the chance.

I am assuming that the lads have access to someone else mails service because I doubt that they plan to pay the mail bill themselves but, in any case, I wonder how they refine their targets. I doubt that mail everyone in the western world.
The previous tennant has been involved in a divorce and is probably in a bit of financial difficulty so I wonder whether that has had something to do with the selection process.
