I don't know if you've seen the news about the terrible explosion and fire in San Bruno, California, last night. That's just over the hill from me, only a couple of miles. Apparently there was a natural gas leak that somehow ignited. I'm just getting a look at the daylight pictures on the t.v., it's awful. There are more than 50 homes destroyed and 7 confirmed deaths so far. The Red Cross got right into action and there's been a lot of good folks who have brought food and clothing to the emergency shelters. The immediate need is for money and blood. I'm away to the blood donation centre right now. |

That doesn't sound good.
If it weren't such a serious and dire situation, it could be rife with innuendos Fartina.
I do hope that those injured and homeless by this will be comforted, helped and recover quickly.

Sounds like the media is leaning to poor line management. Not good for the NG company! I'm surprised they did not evac the area, including you Farty. That stuff goes bad again...boom! |

Apparently folks had been complaining about smelling gas for the past three weeks. I read an article claiming that the gas lines were sixty years old.
The death toll was misreported as seven. Four people have died. |

Gas lines used to be run in iron pipe. Who knew that years later the pipe would be damaged by the minerals in the ground.
I know someone who bought a large facility only to find that ALL of the gas piping leaked and had to be replaced.
Now they use plastic on new installations.
Lesson: If you smell gas, don't ignore it. There is a reason it is odorized! |
