After several months going by of Vlads throwing the hook, I think I am happy to report that I have a live one. Tatyana... what a lovely name. Quite the rap sheet she's got going. Pity... cause the pictures Vlad is using are (of course) of a very pretty young girl. As always, I hope no harm or consequence will come to the gal pictured unless "she" happens to have posed willingly as bait.
Which brings up a question. Most of the pics used in these or most other scams are stolen/borrowed/hijcked. Whats the general concensus here? By even entertaining the notion, are we contributing to the abuse of these pics and the girls pictured in them ?

You should deface the picture in such a way that they can not be reused for other scams. In the case of documents, I write 'FAKE' across it. In the case of people I write something like 'used by a scammer' or 'sent to me by a scammer', to indicate that the person portrayed is not necessarily a scammer.
Chances are that they send the same pics to al their victims, not just you. When they google around, find your thread, and see the same pictures, they (hopefully) realize it's a scam. |

Welcome to Eater Romance - please ask any questions - we will help where we can.
Bait safe and have fun - and cause the lads plenty of pain.
Often the person in the stolen pics is another victim of the scammer. |

My wife is from Lugansk in Ukraine, a city with a reputation for scammers. Photos used by scammers come from:
1. Photos of Russian/Ukrainian models, actresses, TV personalities who are typically unknown in the west;
2. Photos lifted from genuine dating sites of Russian/Ukrainian girls;
3. Scammer is a photographer who uses photos of any of his former clients.
My wife had the third problem. She paid to have some photos taken by a photographer in Lugansk. Copies of these photos appeared on a supposedly reputable dating website in the USA about 10 years later (by which time, we were married). Presumably, anyone corresponding was actually talking to the photographer. I had to apply some considerable pressure to have the profile deleted.
Some of the girls whose photos are used are placed under great pressure during any police investigations. My wife knows of someone who ended up divorced and in a mental institution after her old photos were used in a scam. |

Isn't it also true that those that try and get you to go over there for the obligatory visit use photos of themselves? |

Pro-daters (real women who make their living off money, gifts, etc. from visiting men) do generally use real photos. However, some scammers using fake photos bring up the visit option with no actual intention of following through. The problem is, it's not always easy to tell whether they really intend for a visit. |

The tragic part of this that there is quite a lot of Eastern European women, who are honestly looking for a husband in a western country. The main reasons being that Eastern European men often drink quite a lot. And this from CIA World Fact Book:
| Quote: |
| 15-64 years: 0.92 male(s)/female |
This ratio is similar in most east countries.
The drinking? - Been there, seen that. I even saw a guy washing his breakfast down with large quantities of vodka
My reason for bringing this up is that I would hate to see an honest girl being baited.
I've got the main rule that everything ending up in a spam folder is baitable. And then again - With vlads I'm always alert for signs that could indicate that it's real and honest girl. |
