Every now and then I need to reset my moral compass and remind myself how utterly loathsome lads are.

I am playing an old soldier with "cancer of the fetlock"...

Sickening isn't it. I don't think they have a decent cell in their entire bodies.

Here's my bastard of a lad (a death threat currently being mass baited)

I think we all agree scammers are the scum of the earth.

Before I started baiting, I also asked myself if it was the right thing to do. After all, they usually live in very poor countries and scamming is a very easy way to get a lot of money from naive people. But then I realised how evil and reckless these guys are, and now I think they deserve every bit of lad pain!

I've started using my "I have to put a pillow on Granny's face till
she quits wiggling to steal her money." More often now to see what
they will advice me to do.

One only needs to read a few Scamwarners stories if you ever start
doubting the reason you bait. "lad-hugger" is an occupational hazard
which is easily cured. Yep. It can be quickly remedied.

Every so often I'll throw the whole "sick daughter in hospital" line in, just to remind myself why I spend so much time conversing with this scum.

At the same time, I'm not so sure I could take the moral high ground, because I've also refused to help many merchants dying of esophageal cancer by now. Twisted Evil

i think these sort of things are the principal argument i use when i hear people bashing scam baiting - these guys will do anything, say anything, just to get hold of your money. they just dont care

We all do this from time to time. Having two hits ordered on my character by a lad, telling another baiter character to do the dirty deed in The Very Annoyed Cheque Lad bait still sticks in my brain. Also, Joe in the Joe and Tina Safari having a friend travel toward Niger to kill 4 of our characters has not left my very bad memory yet. I'm constantly reminded by reading here of what they will do to scam people, I listen to the victim stories on the radioshows, and I have talked to a couple of victims, too. I have been told to drug my grandmother to steal her money under her bed.
I think I'll tell my present lad that I need to go to the doctor, because I might have AIDS. I want to see if he will wait a couple of days for his money. I'm betting he will tell me my funds will arrive overnight. Evil or Very Mad

I may start to include a scenario borrowed from a real example.

Tell laddo I need to decide between a heart operation and sending
them thousands of dollars. I may die without the surgery.
This will be an obvious answer, won't it?

He'll say something along the lines of if you don't pay you'll die anyway because my boyz will kill you. Or some other such caring sharing thing.
