Hi All,

I have been following this for a couple of days for a bit of entertainment. Seems that some good samaritan has found the reply-to-all button. Anyone else part of this? I can't even find the original scam email this was to do with & the first reply-to-all has skipped out all the lads info.

I think I'm the only baiter who didn't receive that.

I didn't get this one but I've had a couple before. Half the accounts listed are often catcher accounts, if you reply they then get harvested and If deemed to be a lad you then start getting more emails.

The danger of replying to all accounts is that sometimes you can get abuse as well.

I got several ASEM's of lad abuse from members on here when my character's email address found it's way on to a baiter site and a number of people thought I was a lad.

Personally hitting the reply button is worth avoiding from what I have seen.

Would a better course of action be to send all info re: potential victims
directly to ScamWarners. I had a situation where I knew of some possible vics and that's what I did. Notified the sister site. Administrator.

They got right back to me and they will handle the warnings. I figured
it was a job for a proffesional. Not much different from contacting a Moderator here when you're in a spot and not sure exactly what to do.

Am I right on this?

Thanks for that Brainiac. I just got a scam in my catcher email account that CC'd about 200 other email addresses. I've sent it to the admin at Scamwarners as per your suggestion.

The original warning was on 27 July, I can’t understand why he brought it back to life using cc!

People can’t distinguish between 404 and 419, all they need to know -it’s a scam, don’t fall for it- and give some details about how does it work.

I feel pity for the one who lost gazillion dollars though Mr. Green

I got the warning and follow-up emails as well, but was unable to find an original scam email, so I suspect wyldstallyns started it after harvesting some guestbooks. Can't figure out why someone would do this, though. Confused

I would also be interested to know this. I've been fishing through the spam folder but nothing of interest comes up. He is included in the spam list for a couple of Gold selling emails.

I also notice that I never actually received the warning from this guy, just the second bit about it being a 419 scam not a 404. Did anyone receive the warning direct?

Incidentally, does anyone know the conversion between gazillion dollars and gajillion dollars?

I was on that list too. It seems almost everyone on that list was a spam-baiter. He must have gotten his contacts from a baiter guestbook.

I think I may have done something similar a very, very long time ago before I even understood what these scammers were about. I was one of the people that liked to reply all to those lovely chain emails back in the '90s.
