Death threat scam?

Newbie here -
Has anyone ever received a death threat "deal" scam? Man claims to be from Yemen and wants me to pay him $20k to stop the hit.
Any help / ideas on counter would be appreciated.

i personally love these scams. There's sort of two ways to deal with it really, from what i understand,

1: press him for what information he has, he'll say it was a friend etc etc, and just see what info he is willing to give you etc - its a quick way to end it but it can be amusing

2: like any other scam, just stretch it out - act afraid, saying ok what should i do, and then just keep coming up with reasons why the money hasnt reached yet etc.

All in all, i throughly recommend getting a mentor - it'll help you a lot, especially being new to the game

Welcome to eater, london. What you have there is a "hitlad". They are loads of fun and generally considered the bottom of the scum-barrel.

EDIT: Arrrgh, ninja'd by Loki. You might want to use eater's search function and find the thread about Don Gunshot, one of our recent hitlads.

Personally, there's no scam lower than "Send me money or I kill you".

I mean really, he's going to kill me from West Africa? That's impressive. He must have a cracking set of binoculars...

Did I hear someone mention a hitlad?Bottom of the food chain of scammers.It requires no finesse,just a stuck caps lock key and a lot of threats.No need to convince someone you are a barrister or diplomat.Resist the urge to say you are an ex seal or something of the sort,as it will cut the bait short.I participated in a wonderful mass bait of a hitlad when I first signed up here-do a search for Frosty or William Billy,we had him going for months.

Do you mean sending a hitlad mail to the lads?

I think very few will fall for it, and it might even educate the ones not knowing of the hitlad scripts.

We had Don Gunshot very recently and he went for 3-4 months.
Also... a "Gladlord Thms" and he went for an astounding 3 mos. or so
too. Both of them were long-term for the hitlad script.

"Thms" told me it was short for Thompson. Could this be the very same
GayLord Thms ??? I think it is. OK then, I'm on it. Good thing the
down payment is negotiable.
