I'm not UK based, so a premium membership would not help me much in getting lads to send stuff. O I've got another idea.
I have contacted our police with regards to set up a fake address that simply gets intercepted by the police. The police lady I talked to said that this has her personal sympathy, but she not sure if could done within the limits of laws here.
Has anyone got experience with that kind of stuff?
I would also like to get opinions on this, so please let me know, especially if you have good reasons for this being a bad idea. |

Hi there.
You don't need to be uk based, to use the prem. dropbox, for one its in the states, and secondly, you don't need to actually recieve your send items yourself.. Thats mostly if you wanna decorate your office with the stuff lads send you or something
If you just wanna vaste some lad time/money getting them to send you stuff, the dropbox-manager can easily dispose of the crap for you..
(Also i'm pretty sure you can get the manager to scan/photograph stuff for your emailing pleasure , but you'll have to check yourself)
anyways welcome to eater, from a newbie myself.. (In gold though )
HAve a greatbait day

Well, there is an easy if it is only about wasting the lads time and money by having him send stuff that just "beaches" somewhere - A nice girl at UPS told that stuff with non-existing addresses will be held for five 5 days. Then, if nobody has claimed it, the sender will be contacted with a "kind" offer to pay for getting getting it back and they will destroy it if he doesn't want it. This way the lad may pay shipping twice - That is, if he wants his back
She said, however, that she could not recommend such practice. Then I asked her this: "So what I hear is that you can't recommend it, but you would love to see it happen". She laughed when she replied: "You know I can't answer that".
There is just one issue with this practice: The UPS people may get problems with an angry lad, thus making this practice against our rules.
The girl at our national mail company was laughing her teeth out when I told about the baiting concept, I would have loved to see her coworkers. She came up with an idea, but that requires giving the the lad a working mobile number, because you get "texted" when you can collect your stuff.
What I see in my concept is that I would eventually pass a fake check to the police anyway for evidence - All I want is a scan. But I don't think the police will too happy receiving "art samples" and the like. And then again - Some of them might find this so amusing that they will even do it in their own time |

If you want the item to disappear into the ether, then you can use a fake address which is created by visiting
www.fakenamegenerator.com
and sending the resulting information to your lad. |

The return contact information will be completely fake so the scammer will not be informed that the delivery was not made. There may be a tracking number but most scammers do not check it online. I use 90210 as the zip code for my Seattle, Washington address and track my packages to Beverly Hills where an exception is generated before it moves on. Just as it leaves Beverly Hills my scammers will start asking me for their 90%. The package will not have arrived to its final destination and the scammer and I have renegotiated a lower percentage and may have even arranged to have another check sent. I like to spend the first check on rock and roll, drugs, fast cars, alcohol, and Viagra for my boys. After 3 days my very rich boyfriend usually dies of Viagra poisoning and my scammer is too busy reading my emails whining that I can only ATM withdraw $900 a day from my dead boyfriend's bank accounts to see that the check has hit a dead end.
I second the suggestion of the using of premium dropboxes. |

I feel a bit like this running of track: My basic idea is to to have lads stuff intercepted by the police, customs or whatever other authority.
I would very much like to get the pro's and especially the con's.
I see this as a great idea, but there might be a backside to it, so please let me know.
So please think negative about this and give me all you've got. |

I don't think there's anything but cons to that plan.
If the authorities are investigating an illegal package, they're going to investigate the person it's sent to just as much as the sender. More, in fact, because the sender is in Nigeria and hard as hell to extradite. So the focus of any investigation is going to fall on either noone, or on you. It won't hit the lad.
That being said, there's nothing wrong with actually receiving a package and telling the lad that, thanks to his dumbass packaging methods, the authorities have seized it and he needs to send it again. |

Thanks for the comments, they are highly appreciated.
I may have left something important out - The whole idea is that the police would be in on this (I do have a police lady looking into this at the moment)
I may forgot to tell: my idea idea is that anything addressed to, say "Kissmyass Alley" would be intercepted by the police/customs, and they know that it is a result of a bait - In my country they would go for the sender.
The whole idea here is to establish an address in cooperation with the authorities, so they can go straight at the the sender rather than investigating the receiver.
And yes, There might not come anything out of it, but it will cut down investigation time. Especially if they are alerted that something is coming. |

In which case just have the sender use the address of the police station you want investigating it. Sender mails package to police. Problem solved.
I'm still not convinced that law enforcement will respond with anything, but if that's what you're going for I'd make sure that the police knew damn well that you were cooperating with them. Having the lad mail the police directly would definitely do that. |

As mentioned above, the senders address will be fake, the credit card or whatever used to pay for the postage/freight will be mostly stolen, there will be no verifiable links back to the sender for any authorities to use.
And also, all you would be doing is wasting LEO time chasing nebulous ghosts around with no real information.
Good idea, but I have to admit it is not practicable. |
