If he thinks Australians don't speak English, what's he doing in Geordieland ?

I remember many years ago having a meal with a young Geordie couple and I thought I was good with accents, but they had the Geordie accent which is like the low burbling of water going through a plumbing system. It sounds very lyrical but you can't pick up any specific sounds on which to hang a word. You keep trying to re-run what you heard through your mind, but it's like a foreign language - and bear in mind that there's more than one Geordie accent.
