Most likley there was a little bit of news/press about scambaiting and people went googling.
I run a website about ice hockey, and you'll be amazed at the sudden rush of hits whenever there's the slightest mention of it in the press.
The Olympics and Stanley Cup finals are chaos. |

Well, I could be wrong. I never considered that the figure quoted was registered users or simply active connections.
Even so, I think the point still stands, that many people will have their curiosity peaked by a news story somewhere and then will come and check out Eater. I'm sure many create and account, have a look around, and then probably never return. |
