I am a newbie here, involved in my first bait, and learning the ropes. But it seems to me that romance scams should be pretty easy to defeat. All you need is to play two scammers off each other. They both would start off claiming romantic interest. If you pick a lad and e-mail him a short interest letter, when he writes back, immediately copy and paste it to a letter to a laddess. When she writes back, copy and paste her response to a lad, and so on. Then you don't need to do any work at all except transfer the letters between the two. They do all the work scamming each other and your e-mail address just acts as a courier between them. I've searched the forum but couldn't find anything like this. It seems simple and requires almost no work from you. |

Hi FranklyMyDear, and welcome to Eater!
Why not try what you are suggesting, and post the results? Does it work? How long do the pair last until they 'twig' that something isn't right?
As many Lads who pretend to be looking for love also pretend to be female characters looking for love, often at the same time, I'm thinking that they might be so familiar with all varieties of Love Scams that they immediately recognise that this, too, is a romance scam script.
And as soon as they start telling each other of their tragedies and asking for money, I think they will certainly realise.
However, this could mean that both lads believe that you (the courier in the middle) are another lad ... which could have some interesting results. Or they simply might never write again.
But: I'm guessing. Try it and see what happens! |

I don't want to guess the number - But, lad, isn't that the best fun to be had with MoneyGram reference numbers? |

Yes, I really think I'd like to give it shot. Being new, right now I'm looking for a mentor to go through my training. But after I'd really like to give that idea a shot. I just didn't know if that was an idea that people knew about or tried as I couldn't find anything about it, or if they might catch on quickly. If it works, I'll report. |

I'd give it a shot. Really sounds like it could work or at least be mildly entertaining |
