I just got back from petrolhead heaven. No time to title them all at the moment, but here's a few of the 600 odd pix I took.

This is part 1, cark park to the track, some action shots tommorow.

Just getting out of the carpark was a challenge....

Star of the show was probably Sir Jackie Stewart, driving Jim Clark's 1965 Indy 500 winning Lotus. It went straight into a museum after the race, and hasn't turned a wheel since, until this weekend. Jackie said that right handers on the hillclimb course were a challenge, as it was only set up to go left! {The Indy banking is all left turns, they set the cars up cockeyed to compensate}

This Auto Union was being driven by Nick Mason, older viewers may remember him playing the bongos for some popular beat combo.

Where else will you see TWO Bugatti Veyrons?

A Canam car warms up, note the fingers in ears....

I didnt realize 1910 race cars, existed, never mind had huge V8 engines...

The Red Arrows turned up, I'm seeing them next week at Silverstone, so I may put some pix of them together from the 2 gigs. Meanwhile, here's a couple I liked:

Veyron, I like that one. It has the extra key to release the real horseys under the hood, as I have read.

Nice pics, thanks Roy. Some VERY nice cars there. Although you do wonder how the driver is supposed to squeeze into some of them!

I used to work for a team manager who was partly deaf, after a few years as a crewchief on a Canam team.

I know you like old bikes, MM, here's Peter Williams' 750 John Player Norton. I used to have a poster of him riding this very bike on my wall as a teenager.

Nice pics. A Colin Chapman enthusiast, I want that Lotus.

There is a movement by old Lotus employees/enthusiasts and old Stationers' to get a Colin Chapman and Lotus museum up and running in Hornsey.

My mum used to work in this office. Though just after the Lotus time.

Sadly Stationers' Company School is no more. They turned out lots of engineers at that time.

The Lotus 78 wins for me again. The first ground effect car, Chapman called it the "Something for nothing car" because the extra down force came for free when driven fast. Mario Andretti and the Late Ronnie Petersen drove it.
