Hi there Guys and Gals,

I've just signed up with your forum and look forward to getting involved in the community. I think I may be able to offer some help when it comes to African cultural practices - I am a South African and have travelled to Mozambique and Namibia quite a lot over the last couple of years.

If there's any assistance I can give, please, just shout.

Being new here, I'd like some help from the community.

First off, any suggestions for an email provider? I'm loathe to use gmail or hotmail. I reckon they'll be dropped fairly quickly by the lads.

Also, are there any safety concerns operating out of SA?

Well I think you would be in a good position to a bait from South Africa. As long as you are careful not to leave clues to your real identity. Bait from a free mail address and always via the web. Unless you want them to know you are a South African, you could pretend to be in the U.S or pretty much any other country. Read all the baiter university stuff and get yourself kitted out with the baiter neccessitites. And good luck .. may the force be with you.

Welcome, Molly Codler.
I too strongly dislike gmail, but it's one of the few free mail providers that strip your IP from outcoming mail. Also, I believe this only works if you're using their web interface. There's Hushmail as well, but it only provides you with 2mb of storage space if you're using their free formula (as opposed to 7+ gb by gmail).

Or you can use a proxy...

I find gmail to be just fine and it has a lot of functions that make it perfect for baiting, as well as hiding my ip and true location. I've rarely had a Lad complain and they themselves use it a lot. South Africa has many Lads operating there, but so does the UK, where I live, and the USA too. Personal security is easy to ensure by following the simple rules that you are directed to when you join. I've received many death threats, but to be honest, not as many as I've dished out. Very Happy

I have gmail, yahoo and fastmail email addys that I use for baiting and they're all good. I use the yahoo one for chat and have found some neato chat tricks to fool our bois that I am in fact two people chatting to him...

Just take it easy. We don't want you to make mistakes. Your lad could be within a mile of you. (This goes for any other baiter).

Make sure you are safe in every move you make.

The the early stages of Gmail I found a lot of lads were skittish about "Gmail jokers." But now I'm finding more and more lads using Gmail themselves. Whatever stigma it had among the lads is gone now. So don't worry about using it, the IP stripping feature will be helpful considering so many lads operate in your backyard, so to speak.

There are a hell of a lot of free mail accounts out there. Check what lads are using.
I use rocketmail.com via yahoo.

You can open a hotmail account, then in Gmail, go to settings (Add POP3 email account)

Then (Send email from another address),

your emails will appear coming from hotmail
and if your hotmail account receive an email, it will go directly to your Gmail account with its headers
