I just took up the baiting hobby a couple of weeks ago, and I've got more than I can manage. I've got a preacher lad who is looking for contributions. Has anyone got a church persona you would like to use with him?

Here's the story: The lad--who somehow knew about my devotion to Christian charities--contacted me requesting financial support. (No BS about sending me money--just looking for hefty contributions.) I explained that I needed a photo of him holding a sign with my name to check his veracity. The photos arrived today (appear to be done in photoshop.) Unfortunatly--as you know all too well--US laws disallow private foreign charitible contributions greater than $50K in a calendar year. In my next email, I will advise him that I have already reached my legal limit. He should have sent the photos a few days sooner!

There may be a way around this. Churchs can make unlimited contributions (as you know). If you have a church who would like to handle him, I will be happy to refer him to you. I'll be happy to forward the email strings to you.

As a newbie, I'm not sure whether or not this sort of hand-off is considered appropriate in the baiting community. If it's not appropriate (or if no one is interested), I will just abandon the lad after the next email.

Any feedback and recommendations from more experiened baiters will be appreciated. It occurs to me that lads may be reading this too, so I will hold off doing anything until I get some sensible guidance.

Yes, and thank you so much for doing that. Unfortunately, as I mentioned before, there is a strict limit on the amount of foreign charitable contributions I can make in a year. I have reached that limit for this year. In fact, I miscalculated before, and I was already over the limit when I emailed before. I will be unable to make any more direct contributions for the remainder of the year (2010).

However, all is not lost. (When doors are closed, God opens other doors!) I am able to make contributions to non-profit organizations that have been incorporated in the United States, and they are able to provide funding to others as they wish. (In accordance with their own policies and proceedures, of course.) In fact, the church I attend weekly (CHP) has a global presence and does global outreach. I will pass along your email address to a gentleman I know who is involved with the Charity Committee of CHP.

fartina, just scroll down to the bottom of the home page,
Where it says name, first, last, email addy, Comment, then clicky "Submit". It's not really a Guestbook per se
