Ok, I created a fake gmail address, and replied to this scammer who has informed me of a "will" I inherited due to the death of "Mrs. Yakov"...of who I am supposedly related to.

With my fake name of "Mary Poppins", I was gracious in my reply, extending my apologies for her death, and of course I did the "crazy womanly" thing and flew off the handle assuming that the only way I could be related to Mrs. Yakov was my husband must have cheated on me.

I thanked the barrister for this information, pretended I was soo distraught having just learned of my husbands cheating that I couldnt help at this time, although 10.3 million dollars was tempting.....

But I was willing to pay for more information of the "affair" to help me win my husbands millions in the now impending divorce, (pictures of them together, if she was pretty,how long they were together, how she died, etc) and that I was going to confront my husband with this when he got home from work tonight....and he was dead meat.

I must admit, this is a little scarey playing games like this, but it does have an appeal.....I am questioning my sanity at this point. Shocked

Any advice would be welcome. This is my first letter to a scammer.

I like how you turned the scammer's story around on him, but do not be surprised if he does not enthusiastically pursue it. After all, he has a whole email folder full of forms and emails ready to go based on the original scam. For him to come up with additional information and angles to play might be more work than he is willing to commit to.

That is a creative approach. Very Happy

With that kind of imagination I think you could go far in this hobby. In general, as Razor implies, in the earliest stages of a bait the lads stick to scripts. It usually works out best to save the creative parts until you've got him on the hook and past his cut-and-paste stage. Then you can knock him totally off-script and use your devious imagination to make his life miserable, all the while dangling the carrot of big money in front of him.

But you never know, he may just come right back to you now and start playing along. If so, do keep us posted.

You might be a little premature in yanking the lad off-script but... you never know. Any time you give a lad a sniff of money you have a reasonable chance of success. I like your instincts! Very Happy

When you ARE ready to yank his chain a little further, why not tell your boi that you are tired of your husband's cheating ways and you'll pay the lad good money to have hubby killed.

Then you might convert a conventional lad in to a hitlad!

welcome deedee, you have the necessary creative writing skills
don't worry about the weird feeling. I get over every new hurdle in
2 or 3 weeks. Writing back to hitmen who threatened to kill me
(and in gory detail too) used to bother the holy crap out of me.
Now I can't wait to bait a hit-lad. I dive in with gusto.

As a matter of fact you might want to try out mass-baiting, something we do as a group. Then you're not solo. There's a few going around here
and 1 is a professor to save you and fly you to an island. Just a thought
