+1 for Firefox and NoScript if you are running a Windows machine. That will block 90% of the nasties out there. |

I'm happy to say that (knock wood!) everything is going fine today.
I also appreciate the input here. We've got very savvy members and it's great how much help is available on just about any topic. 
I've got malwarebytes running full time (and it has blocked a couple of sites) and installed PF's suggested Firefox add-on. I'm feeling a little safer about these dangerous infections that don't require an executable file to take over the system. |

this is a very nasty software, it has been going for years now with different names
my old pc was one of its victims 
in adding to all the input
I would recommend this for Windows users
