If your looking to add a dash of confusion to an already bewildered lad, say you have him on safari and you'd like to add some extra pain. Try sending him an email that is written entirely upside down:

Be aware not all devices/platforms can render the extended character set that makes this upsidedown-looking text, and that may include your lads cafe computers? My phone makes a right old munge of it, utterly unreadable! |

I've had pretty good success with stuff being typed backwards. I haven't tried the upside stuff because all the lad needs to do is print it out and then turn the sheet of paper upside down to read.
I've done the backward stuff, but it's not really backwards. Some characters are. It's not backwards enough where he needs to print it and read it in front of a mirror. You gotta see for yourself:

@El Scorcho - I think the Aussie's write upside down and backwards. JUST KIDDING, of course. You guys must get sick of "down under" jokes... 
I do think you could use these upside down and fancy text translators as a way to get lads off of IP-stripping email. Take what they wrote, run it through the translator, copy & paste it back to them saying, "See, your email provider is screwing up". |

Another amusing thing to do is to take your message, translate it into another language and then translate it back to English -- and then flip it upside down or backwards or whatever. Of course, the more translations one does (English to Spanish to French to ... English) the more obfuscated the message. Your friend, google, is helpful here http://translate.google.com/#
