I just replied to a scammer out of my main Email Address; I was under the impression that everything would be masked, but then I looked at the header and found my name written across the top... Was this a bad move on my part, and should I be concerned? |

Hi zeldarocks, if they respond just let it go. Have no futher communication and they will forget about it and move on. To greener pastures.
They chase money, if you ignore they won't waste their cafe time. |

It wouldn't be 'safe baiting' to continue with this, as it connects to your real self in your real life.
So if/when he replies, just delete his mail and ignore him.
If you want to bait him, then write to him from your baiting account as if you received his initial email there. Reply to his FIRST email, and make no reference to any connection between your character and the real you. And then just continue the bait from there. |

I don't want to guess the number - But, lad, isn't that the best fun to be had with MoneyGram reference numbers? |

I remember having set up a baiting account in the past, the only problem is that I do not remember the actual email address and thus cannot retrieve the account details; this email address was set up using Google. I was wondering, if I were to set up yet another baiting account using Gmail, could Google get a wind of multiple accounts originating from one IP and take action against me? |

Zeldarocks, just break off communications. There are plenty more out there. I have been through a couple of moments when I have spoiled a bait by not thinking things through and all you can do is shrug your shoulders and move on to the next one. There is always a next one.... |

Do as I say not as I do. See below.
As the others have said drop him from that account. Ignore any of his replies to your real life address. If you want to start baiting him again, open a fresh address and start as new. To avoid the risk of doing this I just do email throught the web browser so to use my propoer address I have to log out of any baiting accounts.
Keep a word or a text doc to keep a record with your email addies.
Myself, being a hypocrite, never do this and just use very simple baiting addresses with simple initials and the numbers 747, 666, or 313 tacked on. My memory is ultra crap. |
