I don't know why but I kinda knew the stewie thing was all BS, so i stayed clear of it for the most part, but for some reason, when Rover said he was out, I didnt blink and think something was going on, until I logged on today and found a dozen locked threads, the place looked like a bomb hit (not unlike most days, just a bigger bomb) kind of knew a game must be unfolding then. Its been a good ol read and laugh tho.

So who played stewie? or was that a combined job?

I thought it was great fun (even if some thought s*****d went on too long) it was all in good fun. My family couldn't figure out what (else) was wrong with me last night!

Sorry if anyone was disturbed by the inter-mod squabbling but it was precisely because that's so completely out of character that it was (IMHO) funny.

I've seen too many on the forums at the same time, including Rover. It would be impossible...unless Rover has a huge network set up and is occaisionally using 2-3 other computers at the same time. Shocked

In which case he would need a chair with some seriously tough wheels, standard coasters would wear out rapidly under that kind of stress.

I enjoyed every second of the Steward thang. I thought that it was hilarious to start and it just got funnier and funnier as it progressed! The creativity and imagination of all involved was astounding! Thanks for all or you for loads of big laughs!

Ever since my first April Fools' (Benton) there have always been mixed reactions and some folks who didn't appreciate the prank. I'm not disparaging....personally, I think the filter replacement one went on too long and stopped being fun after about two hours....but, well, so what?

This is a forum that attracts sarcastic, irreverent souls. If we spent all of our time focused on the serious side of things we would be a forum full of members badly in need of prunes and/or enemas.

We lose new sign-ups everyday just because of the nature of our membership and forum.

April Fools' is not the one thing anyone can point at, scream "Ah-Ha!" and then carry on...there are those threads that we screw with the phone-lads, the threads where members dog pile the new person, the pointless threads in General Chat (thank Steward, those PMs finally stopped), the safaris, the pictures, Surplus, picking on poor AFF people, the polls, the Moderators, The Guidelines, the fact that it was Tuesday, etc, etc, etc.

That is pretty much year round.

So, I reckon, if you want to do the serious stuff and you know April 1 is coming up then next year you may want to take a break, stick to your lads and just ignore everything else until April 2nd.

I'm not really sussed if you vote no on this poll.

At first i began to get tired of Steward, but when i saw all the developments i started to enjoy the silliness. I haven't been around for that long to remember all the pranks in the past, but i have to say that the eater crew really made an effort this time. It was a good show to watch from the sideline. But now i've run out of beer and popcorn. Crying or Very sad

It was a good prank, thouroughly enjoyed by myself, it just seemed it went "silly" off time (I understand and sympathize with mods who were pushed by the complainer, whoever that may be). i am looking forward to next year!
