The big problem is that the words you are flagging are mostly used when the scammers get to the email stage where you cant pick them up.

To find their profile using word filters you will only pick up a small number but you might also pick up a lot of real people.

Mother and father are in your list.

"I am a father of 3" is not a scammer term but your filter will flag it, "looking for my missing rib" is a term commonly used by scammers and you will not pick it up

Your intention of having a scammer free site is good but you need to stop kidding yourself, you have a lot of work to do and even with a team of people to help you, you will never be free of scammers.

I just tried to sign up but couldn't, it is saying something about "use Latin set", while I was there, at least half of the people on the first page are scammers, all of the others I had suspicions about.

Answer me this, how many new members join each day, do you have time to screen each one of them manually, in most cases it will only take a quick look to see they are scammers

^^ Murray baiters develop a built in scam-radar, the photos can be 'well known' as can the profile content, and lets face it the Spooners experience is second to none. Wink

IF freeinte is serious he might do well to ask your advice on a 'scam warner' article for his site. Rolling Eyes

I do agree on the scam radar but I would like to think that somebody who deals with thousands of dating profiles would also find their radar, sadly that is not the case Sad

If that were the case you would read our replies and accept the truths we are pointing out.

You are deluding yourself and making it very possible for your members to be scammed.

The very best way for you to be "serious" is to take some time to learn - but that is not what you will do IS IT.

My best advice to you is to pull the site while you think through how to make it safer.

There's no sure automated way to keep out scammers.
You need to be familiar with the traits of the various types of scammers, and manually check the new profiles.

You also need to check the registration IP, against where they claim to be.

If you're not willing to put some time in, doing this manually, you have no hope to keep most of the scammers out.

It is possibly to keep MOST out. This also means your site does not grow fast, which means most dating site webmasters don't do it.

I am appalled by some of the responses here! Just because english is not someone's first language DOES NOT MAKE THEM A SCAMMER OR SOMEONE WITH EVIL INTENTIONS.

Here we have a guy show up, trying to get help on getting a scam free dating site going, and he gets attacked from every angle. Shame on you!

For those that did offer constructive help, thank you.

@freeinte what you're trying to set up is admirable but it really is almost impossible to have it completely scam free - some will get through but I applaud you for trying.

Those scammers are still there and active - among with many others.

This poster is not reading the advice given nor has any intention of heeding it, merely paying "lip service" and falsely, dangerously and deceptively claiming a "dating service with really good true antiscam system".

It's very easy to learn to recognize Russian, and West african profiles, as well as those of 'Porn site chatters' from the Philippines.
It just takes some research, and the willingness to manually check each new profile....BEFORE you approve them.

If you don't do this, and rely on members reporting the scammer to you, it's too late.

The scammer has already contacted many people, and usually is doing his scamming away from the dating site...on yahoo, in emails, or on the phone. There won't be any trace of the actual scam on the dating site, except for the dodgy profile.

Yes, some will just bombard members on the dating site using internal messages....
'I am Miss Susy Sally Boogahpickah, daughter of the late Chief Boogahpickah of the Snotswana republic....'

or
'I have studied your structure and decide you are the decent and sociable man for me. I only seek serious relations...'

The victims won't report the scammer even if the 'report' button slaps them in the face every day on sign in, until it's too late...if at all.

Many dating site programs allow the webmaster to limit the amount of messages members can send per day, and/or monitor the internal messages.
This needs to be implemented, also.

I had one new dating site owner tell me years ago that a new 'Russian' girl registered, and PM'd over 500 men in a few hours.
(He was actually trying to run a clean site. He's since shut it down, and ran away screaming....) Very Happy

Victims are victims because they don't recognize the obvious scammer profile.

It doesn't take much to learn to recognize scammer profiles, and yes, all profiles are suspicious until checked.

This is all true. It does not mean, however, that the rude and self important comments or tone some people posted with on this thread are ok. If the goal is to educate I would have expected a much different tone in some of the posts.

There is nothing wrong with what the poster is saying or wanting. Yes, it is unrealistic to think one can have a scammer free site. I do not have an issue with what has been suggested. It's the outright rudeness, that I have an issue with. The back seat modding was getting way out of line.

The people here bait scammers - this is not the right place to be asking for help setting up your new site. It's honorable that you want a scam free site, but realistically that's never going to happen.

On DateMeFree i am update antiscam script few days ago.
Everyday i delete more 50 scam profiles.
New antiscam script have a lot of detection methods of scam profiles!

Bloody hell, the place is f*cking riddled with scammers. The antiscam scripts clearly do not work. It is a huge job to try to weed them all out, and not something anyone here is going to want to do for free for your benefit.

If you're serious, learn how to spot the scammers yourself, and blocking them. If you're not, just delete the site, man.

Edit - something that may help, look at age ranges - any pretty 20-something girl asking to meet 80-year-old men is either deranged or not after a long-term relationship. Read this, it may give you some insight from a muuuuch bigger dating site - the kind of market research you would pay a fortune for if they hadn't given it away for free Wink
